although this might be in gw.dat, this isn't a useful page.--Relyk ~ talk < 21:10, 25 December 2013 (UTC)

I did not find this in the gw.dat. I found it it the combat log. It's therefore a skill and its' effects are not obvious so there should be a page for it. --90.227.63.206 21:58, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
It's not a skill available to players, doesn't have a skill type, and I'm not sure where the activation and recharge comes from. There's nothing to justify a skill page.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:00, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
But it is avalible to players: [[:File:LevelUpCombatLog.png]] and it must be a skill because it's in the combat log. --Ooola (talk) 23:08, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
The exact cast time can be tested, but it's around 1/2 - 3/4 s.
That looks more like a bug lol--Relyk ~ talk < 23:35, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
Why would it be? It's obvious leveling up creates a significant effect around the character, and since it deals damage, it has a place in the combat log. --Ooola (talk) 23:52, 25 December 2013 (UTC)
A simpler answer would be the same reason we don't have a skill page for every monster skill. We don't have actual information on the skill itself. It's worth a sentence on the experience, not an entire page.--Relyk ~ talk < 00:02, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
I won't say where this should be, but I do think this info is somewhat important. After reading it I learned a few things, like the knockback effect so I guess I, for one, found this helpful. Yoe Dude (talk) 00:52, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
What if the page was rewritten to be about the process of leveling up, without it being a "skill"? Psycho Robot (talk) 01:04, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
We already describe the effects of this at Character#Progression. Convert to redirect plx. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:43, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
Sounds like a good idea i guess, but I don't know how to do that. --Ooola (talk) 15:06, 26 December 2013 (UTC)
I'm actually surprised we didn't have a page for this skill already. The fact that you can hurt things and recover when leveling happens has been known since...well, I won't claim beta, but since the game's release. People definitely knew about it via exploit, too (Tome of Knowledge silliness). I had assumed the information was somewhere; if not on its own page, then adequately described where it's been moved now. If you want more info to turn it into a rightful skill page...
  • Instant cast, doesn't interrupt the player (as far as I know)
  • Damage is pretty small, but it can kill
  • Radius of the launch is small, but the distance it throws and the time they're incapacitated is ridiculous
  • Heals player to full, restores all life force and adrenaline, probably also refills endurance / heals pet / brings profession mechanics off cooldown but don't remember
  • Possibly brings all player skills, traits, upgrade procs, etc off cooldown, but hard to test
  • Triggers underwater, but not sure how it affects enemies, since you can't normally launch underwater
It does knockback underwater instead of launch. Also it seems to have a target limit of 8 enemies. Digi (talk) 16:07, 18 October 2024 (UTC)
Is it enough to be "worthy" of its own page? I know what I think of that, but the consensus disagrees. Still, we have pages for rarer and more trifling subjects. Vili 点 User talk:Vili 10:13, 10 January 2014 (UTC)

Range/Radius of the launch?[edit]

I presume that the launch affects enemies in a circle around the player. What is the radius (number of ingame units) of this circle? --1.32.106.89 15:48, 25 October 2016 (UTC)

Skill Icon[edit]

Contrary to the trivia that was previously on the Level Up page, this skill indeed has a skill icon. See https://i.imgur.com/oaoU9rx.png. This screenshot was provided by Redditor CaptainMGN. See https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/g51ong/i_stunned_a_skritt_with_my_magnificence/fo1zro4/?context=3 for the original conversation and https://www.reddit.com/user/CaptainMGN/comments/gkyw4x/leveling_up_has_indeed_an_icon/ for the post with the image. Sadly, the skill icon, as portrayed in the screenshot, is of insufficient quality. Gtr053 (talk) 08:18, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
