Gun Powder[edit]
Anybody remember the lore on the increased use of Gun Powder used 250 years in the future? I cant find the statement from Anet--Knighthonor 00:50, 18 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'm getting the feeling that gunpowder is a major Charr thing. They seem to be embracing (even if it is crude) technology after the downfall of their "gods". I can't really give you any solid info as to why gunpowder is being used in more than just powder kegs. It is interesting though that the use of gunpowder has been adopted by the Charr when it was exclusively used by Dwarves before; which to the best of my knowledge the Charr had little to no interaction with. --Lou-Saydus 20:00, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Well, the charr did have those siege devourers and have been using Ignite Arrows since the dawn of time. :P -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 20:09, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Gunpowder was used also by the Luxons in Cantha for their Siege Turtles in Gw1. --80.25.200.102 20:43, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah that's true, they did use cannons on the turtles, I'm not so sure about the devourers I thought they threw the boulders they shoot with their tails. Either way I'd still love to hear more from ANET about the development of gun powder from gw1 to gw2. --Lou-Saydus 20:49, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- They don't shoot boulders, they shoot exploding spike balls. I think that they would use some sort of explosive, but there's no way to know for sure what it is. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 21:53, 8 July 2010 (UTC)
- BTW black powder mine also used gunpowder :D (hehe has nothing to do with this :P) The Holy Dragons 13:35, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

High Crits[edit]
I feel like guns are going to have relatively low damage but their critcal hit multiplier will be much higher than the other weapons. Just like in real life, guns have small projectiles that can do very little damage compared to a say an arrow but if it were to hit the right place it would be devastating. Thoughts? --70.105.44.42 12:51, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- it is possible. If this is the case, I would like to see increased crit skills for the gun toting classes. But I don't know about all guns in this fashion. I can see perhaps pistols working like this, but something like a rifle may be more methodical. A slower shot, but much better damage. Venom20 13:35, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
Gunblades[edit]
Any theories on gunblades? Will there be a third class of guns that do low damage but come with melee skills? I cannot see all guns having melee skills, but I guess we'll have to see. Venom20 13:37, 6 August 2010 (UTC)
- Well in the races of tyria video the charr are firing rifles with an ae type blade at the end, so maybe. - Giant Nuker 20:12, 11 August 2010 (UTC)
Deletion[edit]
Do we really need this page? We don't have a page called "Bladed weapons" or "Blunt weapons". As far as we know, there is nothing linking pistols specifically to rifles. Erasculio 18:54, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
- Hmm. I suppose its like one of those pages we dont need right now, but will. Its bound to become a redirect to either rifle or pistol at one point, so why dont we make it a Disambig. page to rifle&pistol, who knows, they might add shotguns- heh. --Neil • 20:13, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
