Talk:Griffon
Page states that there is a miniature of the mount. Is there a source for that claim other than a red link? It's not in the hero panel... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 174.74.16.212 (talk).
- Here is the cute little bugger. —Ventriloquist 11:35, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- How is it gotten, I got the mount well before dulfy even had a guide because I'm obsessed with griffons but never saw a hint of the mini ;_;
- We still don't know, unfortunately. Hopefully someone will fill us in in the upcoming days. —Ventriloquist 21:29, 28 September 2017 (UTC)
- Aww buu. Thanks for responding though~
- mini is a reward from the gold chest for the griffon master adventures Kirv (talk)
- Awesome, basically impossible for me, ty for the info though, I worried it had to do with the adventures... guess I'll keep my little griffon hatchling mini
- Is that a chance drop? Had a friend get gold in all the adventures and he didn't get it.
- Day 4 of doing the Master Adventures, still no mini.

Wah![edit]
Pretty gutted it costs 250g to unlock, the highest amount of cash I've ever had is 28g. Guess I can admire other players griffons ;) Neon (talk) 12:15, 6 October 2017 (UTC)
Try selling your hoarded commodities on the trading post. Exchange laurels for heavy crafting material thing and sell the materials on the trading post. Join champ trains and sell the drops on trading post. (There is a pattern forming: Sell on the trading post!) I raised 200g in 10 minutes by selling on the trading post most of my banked commodities and the heavy crafting materials from my laurels. After about 2 weeks of playing straight towards my griffon goal, I earned my griffon just a couple days ago by having the gold ready to buy those ten 25g things from the vendors. You need to commit to your goal, and then just do it.161.97.244.137 15:39, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
It can gain altitude[edit]
Sorry not used to using wikis. Anyway from testing the mount I have found that after you have all the griffon mastery sit is possible to gain altitude from your starting altitude over time. The requirements are of course that you need to be at a sufficient hight to do the dive and gain speed through a flap before immediately pulling up gaining altitude if your timing is on point.
The altitude gained however is extremely small and requires dozens of dives and pull ups before any reasonable amount of altitude gain can be achieved. So balance wise it seems fine to me.
Anyway hope you all found this interesting. Toodles
Clarify the Cost[edit]
"There are 10 items in total that must be purchased. Each item costs 25 gold, for a total of 250 gold to unlock the mount." There are 8 achievements with 2-3 levels, for a total of 8 items minium to 73 items to max. The questions is, is this a treasure hunt requiring all 73 items? or just the 10 purchased from the Heart vendors? If just the 10 items from the Heart vendors, the rest could, if desired, be searched for while leveling the Griffon. If not, and all 73 items are required, PoF would get very annoying very fast.--Enda - talk 02:14, 9 October 2017 (UTC)
- You need all the items to unlock the Griffon, First doing Open Skies for each region, then do the succeeding tasks. Once and ONLY once you cleared all the achievement related to "Open Skies" collection you will get the griffon.
Strange Droppings etc[edit]
I can't find where it was asked, but it is entirely possible to acquire the strange droppings, feather, etc, even if you have already acquired Spearmarshalls Plea and the Open Skies collections unlocked. - Doodleplex 02:16, 13 October 2017 (UTC)
The strange droppings just point you to the guy in the menagerie who points you to the last spear marshall in Vabbi. They seem to have no other use.161.97.244.137 15:42, 28 October 2017 (UTC)
Unlock walkthrough[edit]
I'm thinking of rewriting the walkthrough to be more thorough and a cleaner read; my question before I start is, do we want to keep it on this page, or move it to its own article so it doesn't bulk up this page with a long list of achievements? --Idris (talk) 00:54, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- I think it'd be best to put it on another page. It takes up a lot of space/scrolling as it is.--Rain Spell (talk) 03:50, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- I'm not sure if my rewrite will be longer than the current wall of text, though a dedicated page would certainly let me take advantage of the space, as it were. Edit: that said, we could always put the achievements in a collapsible div so nobody has to scroll through them unless they want to. Most of the walkthrough is actually covered on the dedicated pages for each achievement, so this section need not take up much space on the page at all. --Idris (talk) 03:54, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- In that case, keep it on the same page. It makes sense that people looking for acquisition info wouldn't want to click through to different pages. All hail the mighty collapsible table.--Rain Spell (talk) 04:47, 22 October 2017 (UTC)
- Is the unlock walkthrough done what is on the page right now? Because I'm lost. I've done the separate collections on the desert maps and shall put the eggs in the nests and I've no clue what to do now. The game is not helping and this unlock "guide" doesn't even mention it. --Lucy Luft (talk) 15:29, 22 January 2024 (UTC)

Borrowed griffons[edit]
It should be mentioned that "borrowed" griffons, which player may mount while gathering all needed collection items, have only basic skills without any masteries. As a result, the abilities of fully "developed" mount 1 and 2 (Dive and Rise) do not exist, the movement control while flying is limited. --109.252.109.60 21:02, 28 July 2018 (UTC)
Flap 66% vs 3/4[edit]
In the Movement/Control section it says "You can dive manually when your endurance is at 66% and automatically at 100%, similarly to flapping.", while the notes mention "you can manually command the griffon to flap as soon as your endurance bar is filled at 3/4". Which one is true? Because 66% = 2/3 =/= 4/3 = 75%. Or did I not understand something because english isn't my first language. 80.146.117.112 14:05, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
- No, you got it right. I don't get it either. It may have been a typo or forgetfulness or something, though. I'd test it out myself if I were you, figure out which one works. TiffanySmith.8216 15:24, 27 January 2019 (UTC)
Mount Skin[edit]
The plush griffon skin is not shown under the API key section with the rest of the griffon skins Primeortis (talk)
- If you mean when you use the API tool it doesn't show, it is because there is no mount-id available for the skin yet. Unfortunately we cannot do anything about it until it gets added to the API. Luckily this currently affects 3 of the latest skins (Plush Griffon, Noble Aurochs, Woodland Sprite). And if you mean it it not shown in the list at all, a purge of the page (available at the top of the page) should be enough to make it appear. ~Sime 16:28, 12 February 2021 (UTC)
Missed objectives[edit]
It seems that descriptions of two objectives from the Open Skies: Sunspear Sanctuary achievement are missed:
- Place the griffon eggs in their respective nests.
- Set the Sunspear runes in their respective places around the Sunspear crest.
They are mentioned on the Crystal Desert (achievements) page, that's all. I haven't found a hint how to complete them either here or on that page. Are they too easy to not deserve any mention? At least, it would have a sense to say when they can be completed. Apparently they can be started immediately after gathering only some of griffon eggs and runes, but can be finished when all required items are ready. --87.116.163.103 15:31, 21 September 2023 (UTC)
