Talk:Glancing
I believe you've edited it to use the term "glancing" as a noun, when it is an adjective.Shaun|Nox 12:14, 1 September 2010 (UTC)
- This is not a page about an adjective, it's a page about the effect called glancing. The page should reflect its title. You may wish to read up on gerunds. –~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) ←♥– 03:21, 23 November 2010 (UTC)
Category[edit]
would this be category of skills? or a possible effect of kiting? for instance would a glancing axe cleave have a different effect than a regular axe attack? or rather would an axe cleave become a glancing axe cleave if the player attempts to kite and semi fails. thus reducing damage and effect? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 65.6.139.103 (talk).
- You have the general idea, but there's no special effects which will occur on a glancing blow, at least as far as we know. It will deal less damage and (probably) less effect. --ஸ Kyoshi 23:37, 22 November 2010 (UTC)
- It'll probably be similar in effect to rolling a 1 on a damage roll in d&d. You hit but just do minimum, or less than minimum, damage. There may be skills that cause incoming attacks to be glancing, or skills that cause your next attack to glance or whatever. We don't know yet. /speculation Thering 00:37, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- I dont think I like this, it makes me think of eavading and dodging from gw1, idk, maybe im just paranoid about it x.x —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sir green ranger (talk • contribs).

IMO, this is not an effect[edit]
Glancing isn't an effect, its the result of an attack - like a critical hit. The page even lists two related mechanics, critical hit, and miss, and these two are not effects. Therefore i believe it should be removed from the effects box. Thering 21:08, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
- It seems to happens fairly often where there is level difference between foes, so it might be part of combat formula Zweistein 13:20, 15 June 2012 (UTC)
Critical hits against higher level targets[edit]
This can easily be verified by fighting against a 7+ level target which should have a 100% glance chance. Critical hits appear normally and deal their normal damage. Wethospu (talk) 08:47, 1 December 2014 (UTC)
