Deleted Notes[edit]
User notes were removed because "we don't need one about the event ending or a bug for a gold/black target". The notes have been restored as they are relevant, objective information not explained by the official patch notes. The point of the Wiki Notes section is to include these undocumented details as the overall purpose of the wiki is "to document Guild Wars 2". The notes sections often contain details exactly like these when volunteers make the effort to add them.

- I agree, not sure why Tarun thought removing them was necessary.--Relyk ~ talk < 02:57, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- Event ending was already covered on the Lunar New Year 2016 page, I thought there was an official page stating when the event ended. The other was a bug (I've seen the target icon as black, not gold, also - Imgur). Honestly, that bug note should be removed. Bugs aren't noteworthy, they belong on the forums so they can be fixed. -- Tarun (talk) 00:46, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- I don't think redundancy is a bad thing. Sometimes ANet remove or add things on a different date than they said they would, or bugs just sort of "become known" to the community with no clear indiction for when they appeared, so the wiki community's unofficial observations at the bottom of the patch notes can be a useful resource for double-checking these things. --Idris (talk) 01:00, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- People post bugs on the wiki because ANet is inconsistent about confirming them and doesn't share their bug tracking with us; posts on the forums can be deleted without a trace, merged incorrectly, or simply lost. The forums are a platform for the players to give ANet information, but the wiki is the primary place for us to actually document things to the best of our ability. In addition, the marked target indicator being black was a confirmed bug (only in PvP), but the active target indicator being gold was not. The note may have been unclear but it was a separate issue. Both were fixed at the same time, so the official response and bug fix patch notes are imprecise as well. Spannu (talk) 00:41, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
