Is there a drop-rate page for this? I've been keeping some data, but, I don't know how to create one. Daddicus (talk)

Do you mean the ratio of the three tools? If it isn't 1:1:1 it might be interesting to note on this page. A new page for droprates seems excessive, however. Tyndel (talk) 15:40, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Since the sickle has only 50 uses, whereas both the axe and pick have 100 uses, it might be as simple as twice as many chances of a sickle as either of the other two, so 2:1:1. But a bit of research would show if that's the case or not. The Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Projects/Drop Rate Research article might be a good place to start Daddicus. --Wolfie User Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 00:43, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
I've only got a very low data set atm, but from 49 boxes: 22 sickles; 14 picks; 13 axes, which does seem suggestive of 2:1:1
I've got ~300 boxes I'll be recording all the results from.
Problem tho is that axes & picks get multiple uses (usually 3 strikes) at a gathering node, sickles usually only get one, as a result, sickles drop from the box more often, but get used up less quickly - I've got a main character with 15 sickles waiting to be used up as a result of opening boxes just to get a new pick or an axe --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 09:00, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
Addition, thinking about this, it'd work better if the sickle:pick:axe drop ratio was 2:3:3 (but I guess the dev on this one only considered the number of uses, not rate of usage) --BramStoker (talk, contribs) 09:08, 21 February 2015 (UTC)
My numbers so far are 28.4% sickles, 34.6% axes, and 37.0% picks (total 81 opened, 2015-04-04). With the other data above, it's looking more like 1:1:1. But, still very small numbers. Let's gather a bit more data before making any decisions. Daddicus (talk)
My numbers so far reflecting the same (from 60 boxes opened): Axes (19) 33.3%, Picks (21) 31.7% and Sickles (20) 35%, close to 1:1:1 ratios. Have added these to the summary below. --Wolfie User Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 06:02, 30 December 2015 (UTC)
(Update from 200 boxes opened): Axes (68) 34%, Picks (68) 34%, Sickles (64) 32% --Wolfie User Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 10:16, 10 May 2016 (UTC)
Wow. I was thinking it was very heavily weighted toward axes and picks. I know it's a small sample set and probably biased, but I just opened 18 boxes to get 1 sickle. And that seems pretty typical for me. -RoyHarmon (talk) 11:24, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Important thing is to methodically record each and every toolbox you open and let the data reveal the trends. The results summarised below are from nearly 500 toolboxes, so while there might be localised shifts towards one type of tool, overall looks to be going equal chances. --Wolfie User Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 14:17, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

(Reset indent) So with a collective 885 of these boxes now opened and results collected, while there seems to be a slight favouring towards sickles over the other two, it still looks to be around the 1:1:1 ratios. Without far more results, going to post that to the article (probably a bit redundant since no way to get more of these boxes now, but no harm adding conclusion from the data we've gathered so far). --Wolfie User Wolfie sig.jpg (talk|contribs) 01:42, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
