Talk:Essence of Luck
Fine Essence of luck is listed as an Artificer crafting material. Does this mean it can be upgraded to Legendary or does it just create unrelated items?
For my artificer, these things do not show up in the ingredient panel in the discovery pane. They do not show a level requirement, so they should be showing up, unless they are used only in recipes you cannot discover? ButeoRegalis (talk) 19:39, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
you can upgrade them form fine to masterwork, masterwork to rare and rare to exo so you dont have to click that much amount of luck stays the same 78.35.185.159 19:41, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Could you also mention where the recepe for this can be obtained? 92.108.11.14 20:03, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- Edit: I found it; it is a level 0 Artificer recepe under Refinement 92.108.11.14 20:10, 3 September 2013 (UTC)
- FWIW, I've verified that although upgrading these doesn't change the amount of luck, it does provide crafting experience (as well as advancing the crafting daily achievement) 98.113.50.72 04:17, 10 September 2013 (UTC)
Item Quality[edit]
"The salvage rate is not affected by the quality of the salvage kit or level requirement of item being salvaged." Just to be sure, does this mean that the quality of the item still affects the rate? As in, masterwork items are more likely to drop a better quality/quantity of essence?152.7.16.83 04:09, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Yeah, I think that is true. It’s just that the salvage kit no longer matters in what kind of essences you get (or how many). poke | talk 10:44, 4 September 2013 (UTC)
- Does the level of the item make a difference? Ie, if I salvage a lvl 40 required Masterwork item or a lvl 80 Masterwork req item, do they have an equal or different chance of giving an Essence of Luck? --Wolfie (talk|contribs) 09:32, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- I have been playing on a level 80 and a level 39, besides the amount of blues and greens you get at lower level, I didn't see a notable difference when salvaging. But it needs research to do so. Ranique (talk) 10:41, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
- Ranique, was more referring to the item level requirement, rather than the character's own level, which yeah, would not expect that to have an influence here. --Wolfie (talk|contribs) 02:16, 7 September 2013 (UTC)
- From my experience items of higher level seemed to produce more essences or higher quality essences. But I haven't written everything down, so I can't confirm this. Also, the better salvage kits can, as usual, retrieve the item's upgrade component which can be sold or used. --Alad (talk) 00:56, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

Blue item rarity salvage %[edit]
Just wanted to know if anyone has salvaged enough (ie. a decent sample size, somewhere in the thousands) to find out a given % of salvage for these essences (of any rarity). Personally I've found that maybe 40% of blues actually salvage out to essences, regardless of level of the item, but I don't have a high enough sample size to work with so my data is sketchy. I've found greens will always salvage out to an essence of some rarity, but an essence nonetheless. 121.50.192.243 08:57, 9 September 2013 (UTC)
As i was farming luck i found out that blue rarity gives about 10 luck per salvage, green rarity gives about 30 luck per salvage. Toluk (talk) 16:47, 26 February 2015 (UTC)
Exp from refining?[edit]
Received exp on my Mes as I was refining, so I switched to Necro, seeing as my Mes is 80. No exp though while refining on my Necro, and after some research, doesn't seem you're suppose to receive any exp period. Anyone else observed this? Sardaukar 16:38, 8 December 2013 (UTC)
- A little late, but it is based on your Artificer level per character. As with any level 0 refinement, you will only receive experience out of crafting these until level 25 in the crafting line. 21:51, 26 April 2014 (UTC)
Salvaging rares and exotics[edit]
I have heard that once in a long while, luck can come from salvaging rare or exotic equipment. Personally I haven't seen it; maybe it was a historical feature and not possible anymore? Vili 点 22:54, 8 June 2014 (UTC)
Salvage research[edit]
I found some of mine old notes on salvages:
green rarity lvls 19-62 if not mistaken
number of weapons / total luck from salvage / luck per 1 salvage
8.181 / 242.890 / 29,7
9.262 / 282.230 / 30,4
8.139 / 245.580 / 30,1
26.222 / 794.550 / 30,3
36.628 / 1.086.370 / 29,66 <- a few blue ones were in that pile

Add missing information about Essence of Luck mystic forge usage[edit]
Sunlion, would it be acceptable to add this information in the “Usage” section?
- Essence of Luck (exotic) is also used in the Mystic Forge
I searched for “Essence of Luck” because that's the name in the game, and it led me to Essence of Luck which lacks the necessary information, so I added it, but it was reverted because it turns out it was already included in another page (thank you for the information). To avoid unnecessary edits, my solution is to add this information as a new bullet under “Usage”, with your permission of course. --- Yuki (talk | Contribs) 19:53, 31 August 2024 (UTC)
