Gravel vs Boulder?[edit]
Seriously, I do not see in which situation one would prefer gravel over boulder. Anyone can fill me up with info on this? -Willy sunny 06:24, 7 November 2012 (UTC)
- according to the notes, "The boulder will deal more damage to a smaller area while the gravel will deal less damage over a broader area.", it appears that you'd generally use gravel for larger armies that are spread out so that you can injure them. Whereas, you would use the boulder on smaller area targets, like a small group of individuals or walls. Of course I don't' pvp often, so I'm only inferring from the notes. - also from experieince, the gravel spreads a bit, which can get just a bit more range out of it, so if something is just beyond max range with the boulder, try the gravel, won't do as much damage but at least it will hit. LokiTheKeeper146.6.208.16 20:36, 12 November 2012 (UTC)
Catapult Image[edit]
A perfectly good catapult image was deleted leaving a broken link File:Catapult.jpg. Why? ~ 1Maven (talk) 00:08, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
- That image was deleted over 5 years ago. May I suggest simply uploading a new one yourself? Venom20 17:50, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
- The old image was a bit of shite concept art. -Chieftain Alex 18:14, 25 September 2015 (UTC)
Comparison Table[edit]
I suggest that we add a comparison table, but I first need help to correct it, complete it and answer to a few questions:
- Does character's personal power affect catapult damage?
- Do any power boosts (like consumables or might) affect damage?
- Can a catapult get a critical hit against a wall? Probably not, but if so is Precision important?

1 Catapult Damage is improved by siege might, but not character attributes (power, might, etc.) |

- You can expect seige weapons to behave just like those in the Hall of Memories. Applying Might and then using a trebuchet doesn't change the damage from 73,305, so i don't see why a catapult would be different. -Chieftain Alex 09:09, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info. I also found this table referenced on a wiki user's page that I incorporated. BTW the final version is different from what's on this page. ~ 1Maven (talk) 22:04, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- I made a note on your talk page, but I will comment here as well. I do not think you've factored in damage resistance of both fortified and reinforced walls Venom20 22:18, 26 September 2015 (UTC)
- Only one person commented prior to release and I obviously did not account for this important factor. Feel free to make appropriate changes or point me in the correct direction and I will do it. ~ 1Maven (talk) 00:34, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- I've already rushed a correction, it's better to have no table than incorrect data. This is a global site, it's often best to give proposed ideas a few days (ie not a handful of hours) to consider and add input. While we all appreciate initiative of each other, it's also best to remember that not everyone is on the same schedule. This is why requests for comments is always a good place to start. Remember that the wiki is a collaboration, if you aren't sure of all the information get more input until you are (in this case "you" is a general term, not you specifically). Mathematically the table should now be correct, but I wouldn't say the numbers are right without confirmed data (but that's just me). The spreadsheet that you have referred to was created in 2013, and I am uncertain when it was updated. I noticed that you did not incorporate Siege Might into the table, but did include Catapult Mastery, any reason for this exclusion? Venom20 01:02, 27 September 2015 (UTC)

- Thank you for making appropriate corrections. To answer your question, I felt that it was sufficient to note the effect of siege might compared to the limited benefit of adding it to an already complicated table. While we are on this topic, could you please review Structure upgrade#Effects. There is a discrepancy in the Fortified wall health value. One of them should be corrected. ~ 1Maven (talk) 11:55, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- As I stated before, I don't actually know which numbers are correct (833000 vs 900000). Your best bet would be to go into wvw and run several tests and add up how much damage you do to things. Venom20 14:44, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- As you may suspect, finding a fortified wall is not the easiest thing. Even garrisons get flipped frequently these days. Once finding a fortified wall, there's another issue. Standing around an enemy structure for 15-60 minutes to destroy it's fortified wall in a controlled test without getting disturbed by the defenders is virtually impossible. Since everything I have been able to test on Radian's spreadsheet has checked out, I'm going to use those numbers until I find contrary evidence. ~ 1Maven (talk) 15:37, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- I suspect that you are correct, it would not be easy. But you appear to have a drive to correct and update all these WvW numbers. I have faith you'll find a way. Venom20 15:50, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
