Easy to catch when you go to #8 by Thermal tubes and make a short stop here as it's only few steps from the Tube at the tree. If you bypass this one, use a Griffon from #8 to return to the Thermal Tube.

Alternatively, climb up to the top of the branches southwest of the vista, looking out to the water, and use your griffon to fly southwards, hugging the cliff. You might be able to land directly on the ledge where the egg is or the tree roots that are a little lower and jump up with the griffon.
