Dialogue[edit]
- Wayfinder, welcome. Sorry for the mess. You have some questions for me?
- What have you learned of the native creatures here?
- Everything here has been in an arms race for millennia. Claws and fangs got longer and sharper, and carapaces became thicker and spiked in response. Competition for Nayos's scarce resources is fierce.
- Sounds like everything is dangerous, then.
- Very much so. But keep in mind that most of them are just animals without the spark of sentience. It's not their fault they are the way they are. They adapted to their environment, same as we did.
- I'll keep that in mind. (restarts dialogue)
- Good to know, but I need to get going now.
- What can you tell me about the local plant life?
- Some of it is edible, if that's what you mean. I'd be careful if you're tempted to sample things, however. But what's more fascinating is how they've developed in the absence of the sun.
- What do you mean?
- Well, plants in Tyria need a light source to grow. But in Nayos, they seem to have adapted to use the latent magic in the land instead. Perhaps that's how these trees reached such an impressive size.
- Fascinating. Let me get your thoughts on something else, though. (restarts dialogue)
- Thank you, but I need to go.
- (unlocks after the asking the first option)
- How has the war impacted them?
- War is never good for the local fauna. A lot of them have been collateral damage in combat, and more have been killed as food sources when other resources dried up.
- Will they bounce back after the war?
- It's hard to say. We still know so little about their life cycles, their reproduction, their migratory habits... I hope they'll recover. It would be a shame to lose such a fascinating ecosystem.
- We'll hope for the best then.
- Nothing for right now.
