Jade Lantern
From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Jump to navigationJump to search
Jade Lantern is a type of interactive object in Canthan zones that can be lit by a Jade Bot while having at least 1 stack of Jade Power Charge. Lanterns only appear after the character has achieved map completion for that zone.
Lighting all the lanterns within each zone is tied to their respective repeatable achievements. They provide the means to earn multiple Gifts of Cantha on the same character, used for crafting the third generation legendary weapons.
Locations[edit]
See individual achievement pages for precise locations.
Mechanics[edit]
- After completing a map for the first time, the character must leave and re-enter the map in order to see the lanterns.
- Lanterns that have already been lit are not interactable anymore until the related achievement is completed.
- Several lanterns can only be accessed during certain events:
- To access the lantern in Aetherblade Refuge, you must complete first part of the meta event Aetherblade Assault in order to unlock entrance to the cave.
- To access the lantern in Secret Cavern, you must have either the To Catch a Spider or Empty story steps active, or use the hidden entrance (more details on the achievement page).
- To access the lantern in Mother's Lament, the meta the Battle for the Jade Sea must have been successfully completed, or the Void corruption in the area will prove deadly. However, with some timing and use of mount mastery skills Bond of Life and Bond of Vigor, you can use a fully upgraded Raptor to make it through from Frozen Sea Waypoint and power the lantern before succumbing to the corruption.
