I am an occasional wiki editor, but I do develop a lot for the game, so any inconsistencies I come across I'd like to update immediately. Nothing driving me more insane than chasing mysteries due to the docs being outdated. DeltaxHunter (talk) 11:59, 2 December 2023 (UTC)

I would like to correct or explain examples for map coordinates found on API:Maps. The JSFiddle works but uses old continent coordinates in order to do so. The updated example on the page itself causes a misalignment issue because it is using outdated tile renderings from tiles.guildwars2.com which have not been regenerated since the EoD map changes altered all the coordinates. I am requesting access to correct information on the API:2/commerce/listings page which incorrectly states "A list of all buy listings, ascending from lowest buy order" when the list is actually "descending from highest buy order." This can be observed in the example links on the page eg https://api.guildwars2.com/v2/commerce/listings/19684 Awesumness (talk) 04:12, 13 June 2022 (UTC)

I am working on a GW2 notification system to stay inform about some events related to the account or the guilds when the users is offline. The first point that I would like have is an api to access to the items which are ready to be collected in a Black Lion Trading post. In second point, I would like be able to know when a guild event is started. For this second request, I see a simple way which is to add this new kind of log in the guild log api. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 84.14.51.86 (talkcontribs) at 14:07, 18 February 2016‎ (UTC).
You will have to request access while being logged in. Also note, that request to the API namespace does not give you any way to request new API features or ask for help. Use the forums for that. The API namespace is only used for documenting the existing API. poke | talk 19:48, 18 February 2016 (UTC)

The API v2 has changed a lot lately. The namespace needs a general update for authenticated requests using OAuth 2 (maybe a short documentation on how to use it - get/use tokens, scopes and making authenticated requests). And of course documentation for the newly unlocked API:2/account endpoint. It may also be helpful to add the current drafts for new endpoints (API:2/characters, API:2/account/bank, API:2/skills, ...). I lately developed 3rdparty authentication support for WoltLab Community Framework using the new OAuth2 API and want to extend that package with an API wrapper to make requests to all v2 endpoints (including authenticated ones). Eniko (talkcontribslogsblock log)
Noticed that some of the chat link info is kind of clunky, for instance the upper bits you can set on an item ID to indicate skinning and upgrades are written down as plain "replace the last byte with this number" codes when they are clearly flags. Also I would like to add my own app; UNFTimers. The API forum's welcome post specifically says to request access here to add your own software to the wiki, but this page specifically tells you not to. So I'm confused and just requesting access anyway. Eniko (talk) 16:14, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
You can edit the Chat link format page without needing any extra permissions. Just asking: do you request API-Editorship or do you just want your app to be added to the app list? In the latter case it would be more appropirate to add such requests to the app list talk page instead. Anyway, i've already added it. ;) --Smiley™ de: user | talk 17:25, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
To repeat Smiley’s concern: Are you actually interested in editing the API namespace, or do you just want to promote your own application? poke | talk 12:06, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

I've already been asked by Stéphane and poke to join, so here i am ;) Since i'm active in the german wiki most of the time, i'll go on and do a translation, add Interwikis (if allowed here) and will monitor the changes and do maintenance if needed. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 17:20, 9 August 2013 (UTC)
Done. But per Poke's comment to Captain Combat, if you can hold off until he gets his initial setup done (allegedly tonight), it'd be appreciated. - Tanetris (talk) 18:24, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

First task will be to import my sticky post from the API forums with the list of websites/apps/... The preceding unsigned comment was added by Goddchen (talkcontribs) at 16:52, 9 August 2013‎ (UTC).
That's already been imported by Stephane at API:List of applications. (I'm not a bcrat, so don't take this as a dismissal of your request.) —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:04, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

Blumoon (talkcontribslogsblock log)
I'm a hobby developer currently working on my first third-party app for Guild Wars 2. As a long-time player and fan, I've been looking for an opportunity to give something back to the community. Helping document and maintain the API as I learn from my own experience sounds like a fun and rewarding way to do that. — Blumoon | talk 03:44, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Will do! Thanks for the heads up. — Blumoon | talk 21:32, 9 August 2013 (UTC)

I frequently use the API to contribute to my wiki work as well as for my personal web development projects, and would like to help in documentation and maintenance of this area —Captain Combat Talk combat option tango.png 22:41, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
Done. - Tanetris (talk) 00:11, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Please note that I’m currently working on migrating the original documentation from the forum here, so if you don’t mind please wait before you start editing there. I originally wanted to have it ready before we “opened” but then Stephane just went ahead without really warning me in advance, so yeah ^^" I will probably push the articles live tomorrow. poke | talk 00:20, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Alright, no problem. I figured one of you guys would be doing that anyway. —Captain Combat Talk combat option tango.png 00:27, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
