Widget editor[edit]
Hi Smiley, I spoke to Tanetris ingame and he's kindly added you to the widget editor group. Could you set up a widget with the map borders? I'd like to check some of the boundaries on the Heart of Thorns zones (some of our HoT static maps have borders that might be good to check, others don't have borders on at all). Cheers! -Chieftain Alex 23:13, 9 June 2016 (UTC)
Adventure gold tick icon[edit]
The gold icon does not represent anything used on the wiki for adventures (see the infoboxes, map icons, navs). Waiting on an API feature (something that will probably never happen given the current rate of progress), is not a reason to compromise the appearance of the maps. You have the style within your github history as well as the wiki page history, we can add it later when the API is updated.
Are there any other future features we're wasting time loading each time a page loads that we can remove for now? -Chieftain Alex 07:05, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Please stop removing things that you don't have any clue how they work - ask before instead. It is a feature that is already implemented and working and it could not only be used when the API finally implements said feature, but also by a completion widget like we already feature on the wiki. Just try adding/removing the css class
completed
in the DOM. If you think that icon doesn't represent anything, then replace it with anything useful instead. Oh and if you think that 1800 cached (and gzipped) bytes would make any notable difference in loading times, boy i do have some news for you. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 08:23, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
How about we remove the completed bit altogether for the moment.-Chieftain Alex 18:21, 10 February 2020 (UTC)- Probably the smallest change I think you might be able to tolerate: link. -Chieftain Alex 18:32, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Also why exactly are we data-url encoding the files? Given that someone opening any Zone page is likely going to end up opening more than one location, they won't be caching the result if we use data-urls. -Chieftain Alex 18:35, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
"JUST. STOP. THE. NITPICKING. go away if you don't have anything valuable to contribute"[edit]
Hi Smiley. I'm not particularly a fan of your revert and the comment attached, which, in itself, contributes nothing valuable either. I know you and Alex don't see eye to eye in this map-related matter, but try to get along and compromise by talking it out like civil human beings, cutting down on the hostility. If this seems impossible, by all means, it's all right to take a step back from it and to take a break. Thank you. talk 18:51, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- Look, I'm not the one who doesn't seem to understand the code i wrote and Alex edits break stuff that's already implemented and can be used - but he doesn't seem to understand how and also rather does BS edits than just asking me how it can be used (spoiler: i already mentioned that). I'm sick of his behaviour and fundamental lack of knowledge of how the web works (among other things "it's not your code anymore"). So i'd rather have him mind his own effing business maybe. --Smiley™ de: user | talk 19:06, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
- Smiley, this is still a wiki. It's as much his business and/or code as it is yours, or anyone else's for that matter. It belongs to the wiki now.
- You're saying that Alex should ask you more questions if he wants to know something. As far as I can see, Alex did ask you some questions above on your talk page, which you did not answer. Why's that?
- I see you constantly belittling Alex's abilities — what causes you to do so? Would you want to be treated like this? Would it encourage you to collaborate with someone who does that to you? Would you feel happy?
- Similarly, do you feel good about your interactions?
- You don't have to answer these questions, but I'd appreciate it if you could take a couple of minutes and think about them. talk 19:35, 17 February 2020 (UTC)
