April Fools' Day 2017
For April Fools' Day 2017 Anet released, just as last year, an April fools patch where they "fixed" various issues that the community had, like engineer rotation and the power of Alacrity.
The Super Adventure Festival was made available from 30 March to 20 April.
Community fools[edit]
This year the English wiki and its means of production were seized by the moletariate who started a crowd fundraising that lead to a rickroll.
The wiki has decided that after 10 years of onerous work under the thumb of the bourgeoisie, it is time to forge a new and brighter world together where we control the means of production, free from all shackles and exploitation. For the proletariat to rise, funds must be gathered. To that end, we've started a crowd funding campaign to cover the costs of hosting this invaluable website and its contents. Meanwhile, the French Wiki changed to become a Lord Faren wiki. Several changes were to the sites layout:
- The overall layout was changed to several pictures of Faren
- The front page was changed to say that he is rich, you know?
- The featured article on the main page was changed to Lord Faren's page
Other fools[edit]
- The game's subreddit was changed to be a new fanpage for Kormir, because she deserves that, but it was later changed to a fanpage for Colin Johanson after a petition got 1000+ upvotes.
- Reddit user that_shaman, who frequently shares information about upcoming features via data mining, made a browser game called Super Charrio Kart that he would cover from now on instead of Guild Wars.
- Reddit user OmniDeath made an convincing fake Gem Store update about a bunch new SAB related items.
- YouTube creator Tekkit's Workshop detailed the step-by-step process to get a Chak Egg Sac.
