Event locations[edit]
So sorry about that little bout of confusion there. It's just that it's inconsistent, since some events take place at Points of Interest and others don't so it'd vary from page to page, and also the categorisation. Sunlion (talk) 05:28, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- I think although it is unfortunate that listing events differently based on whether they occur at a POI or not, creates an organizational inconsistency, this structural loss is outweighed by the user gains. I seriously doubt your average GW2 player coming to the wiki to find how to get to an event, will be upset that we sacrificed categorisation to better assist them. Conversely, I'd argue strongly that the point of a wiki is to inform and guide, and giving direct detailed locations -whenever possible, most adequately achieves this directive. - Another possible solution to achieve both the prime directive and still maintain structural/aesthetic constancy would be to always list the region, followed by the POI when available. OtakuModeEngage (talk) 06:38, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- Listing PoIs in the infobox is unnecessary for several reason, mainly because we have coordinates (yes, they are currently missing for most EoD events because the API is not updated) that show the precise location, the blurb in the intro specifying the PoI/details + obviously it breaks the infobox/categorization on MANY pages, not just for the event + guidelines. Imho adding the PoI in the intro is enough without all of this and it achieves the same purpose-- helping the reader. ~Sime 22:27, 23 March 2022 (UTC)

Point of interests - ids and coordinates[edit]
Hi, just for information there's Widget:Map table which lists coordinates and ids if you want them.
Unforunately the equivalent tool for events doesn't work atm since the EoD events haven't been whitelisted. -Chieftain Alex 23:43, 27 March 2022 (UTC)
