Updates[edit]
Just wanted to say thanks for jumping on those updates right away! Dealing with those large skill changes is very much appreciated. Greener (talk) 17:03, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Trait changes are a complicated pain in the ass. Give me a minute to fix some of the rev traits, i'll handle it. -Chieftain Alex 19:31, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- It's going to look like I've reverted a bunch of your changes so I'm going to try and explain myself... If it says "new" trait, we create a new page for the new trait, and mark the old trait page as historical. If it says "renamed" or "merged" then we move the page to the new title. I'll be using your sudo-reverted edits to create the new pages. -Chieftain Alex 19:39, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'll step back and let you clean up.
- Thanks mate, all done, your revisions look excellent on the new pages. -Chieftain Alex 20:03, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Good work on the rev + necro changes --Life Infusion «T» 23:08, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
- Nice spot on removing the old trait ids. -Chieftain Alex 17:52, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
Icons[edit]
Thanks for uploading some effect icons! However, I marked them for deletion for several reasons:
- The icons already exist on the wiki, here: File:Toxic Gas.png, File:Champion of the Legions.png and File:Watery Grave (effect).png. The following categories are helpful to find already exisiting wanted icon:
- Category:Effect icons for effect icons, size 32x32px
- Category:Skill icons for skill icons by profession, size 128x128px
- Category:Trait icons for trait icons by profession, size 64x64px
- Category:Item icons, especially Category:Trophy icons and Category:Container icons, size 64x64px
- The format was incorrect, see Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Image formatting#Game icons:
- Game icon images (skill icons, item icons, trait icons, map icons, etc.) should:
- be named to match the game entity they represent (e.g. "File:Meteor Shower.png" for Meteor Shower)
- be tagged with
icon
- follow the sizing consensus, depending on the type of icon:
- 32x32 for effects
- 64x64 for items
- 128x128 for skills, miniatures, overhead icons for NPCs
- possess a file extension of .png
- Game icon images (skill icons, item icons, trait icons, map icons, etc.) should:
In order to find the wanted icon you can look through the categories, or you can use Special:ListFiles and Special:NewFiles to search by name or check the user page User:Darqam/Dat Icons for new icon (if Darqam uploads them). --Tolkyria (talk) 12:17, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
- Oh, very cool! Thanks for letting me know! -- Ojimaru
Skyscale Flight Maps[edit]
Hey, just wanted to say that the maps you uploaded are amazing, awesome work! :) talk 08:50, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- ... --DiegoDeLaHouska (talk) 09:12, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
- All thanks to DiegoDeLaHouska! I couldn't have done it without your maps to help guide the way! - Ojimaru (talk) 14:04, 24 May 2019 (UTC)
Extended Editor rights[edit]
Hey Ojimaru, would you be interested in extended editor rights? I see you've been moving a ton of files recently, and the suppress redirects option will save our sysops some time. Greener (talk) 04:51, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- Wow, wasn't expecting to be offered such a privilege. Sure! It'll save me time from writing up delete requests too. Thank you for the offer! - Ojimaru (talk) 04:55, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- Beware the rollback button; you will hit it by mistake at least once. Greener (talk) 04:57, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- You can add the following to User:Ojimaru/common.css to hide the rollback buttons in Recent Changes and your Watchlist:
- Beware the rollback button; you will hit it by mistake at least once. Greener (talk) 04:57, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
body.page-Special_RecentChanges span.mw-rollback-link { display: none; } body.page-Special_Watchlist span.mw-rollback-link { display: none; }
Interwikis[edit]
Not sure if you are aware of, but I just wanted to let you know how to find out the interwikis, without checking ingame. The interwikis of any unlocked item can be found either with User:Darqams tool Guild Wars 2 Easy Mode (suggested, also providing copypaste code of the infobox and the most basic acquisition templates) or with Smileys tool GW2 item search. --Tolkyria (talk) 07:39, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
- No I did not! Thanks so much! This will be greatly helpful! - Ojimaru (talk) 13:56, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
Gem Store history[edit]
I know that I'm late since you have already edited so much pages... but may I suggest to use templates for such repetetive entries, where the format should match on all pages. The main reason is that if one wants to change the format even just slightly, then only the template needs to be edited and not all pages. Namely, I would suggest to create and use Template:Gem Store history table header and Template:Gem Store history table row (Compare with the somehow similar templates Template:Version history table header and Template:Version history table row). The code used on the pages would look like the following:
Gem Store history table header |}
--Tolkyria (talk) 18:31, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. Always been afraid of messing with templates, especially seeing how complex some of the ones you've made. I'll give it a shot. - Ojimaru (talk) 21:42, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- If you need help with the template, feel free to ask... but actually, you managed it alone. You can also request a bot edit here to change your already edited pages to a template format. --Tolkyria (talk) 21:51, 3 July 2019 (UTC)
- We might want to revisit
{{#switch:{}|release=??|{{#time:F d, Y|{}}}}}
. See parser function switch. - Currently, if unnamed parameter 1 is set to
- a date, it will display the date
- "release", it will display
??
- empty, it will display the current date.
- I think this is not the intended behaviour. Edit: If it's indeed not, maybe you can describe your wanted behaviour for the three input types:: 1) date, 2) emtpy and 3) how to display ??.
- Furthermore, we can add
{{#expr: ({{#time: U|{} }} - {{#time: U|{} }}) / 86400 + 1 }}
to calculate the time it was available. --Tolkyria (talk) 22:15, 3 July 2019 (UTC)

- The code looks fine to me. The "Live" sounds a little bit weird for me, maybe "Ongoing" or "Still available" is better, I don't know. Also if you want to add the duration, the code is above, it just needs some adjustments for non-date case, just tell me if you want it. --Tolkyria (talk) 13:11, 4 July 2019 (UTC)
You are hereby awarded the (imaginary) title of...[edit]
Gem Store Historian | |
Thank you for your extraordinary efforts to document the sale histories of Gem Store items and updating the respective sale pages. This massive feat is much appreciated! Keep up the great work. :) talk 17:26, 19 July 2019 (UTC) |
- Aw, shucks. Thanks for the title. Couldn't have done it without the consistent work of Astral Projections.7320, Just a Flesh Wound, Illconceived Was Na.9781, and all the amazing people who contributed to the forum posts tracking the Gem Store's sales. - Ojimaru (talk) 17:32, 19 July 2019 (UTC)
Splendid Chest keg[edit]
Hi, I just noticed this edit of yours. Just wondering what you're trying to do with renaming? Whatever it is, it can probably be accomplished without waiting for an admin to delete it for you! —Idris 19:26, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Since the model is similar to the :File:Wooden Strongbox.jpg and that one has a better screenshot by user:Rainspell, I was thinking that renaming the Wooden Strongbox file to Norn Chest instead, in keeping with naming conventions of the Shared Model Project. Does this make sense? It certainly made more sense before I typed it out. XD - Ojimaru (talk) 19:31, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- No, it makes sense! The fact that you put a speedy deletion tag on the Splendid Chest file "to make way for renaming" made me think you needed to free up the name "Splendid Chest keg.jpg" so you could give it to some other image, in which case I was going to point out that you can rename it to "temporary name.jpg" or whatever so you don't have to wait for an admin to get around to deleting it for you before you can put the name to better use. :) —Idris 19:38, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) ... same as above but I'll post it anyways: Wikipedia:Moving a page#Swapping two pages, i.e. without leaving redirect
- :File:Wooden Strongbox.jpg → :File:Temp.jpg
- :File:Splendid Chest keg.jpg → :File:Wooden Strongbox.jpg
- :File:Temp.jpg → :File:Splendid Chest keg.jpg
- Add delete tag to the bad image, then: :File:Wooden Strongbox.jpg
- However, not sure if this technique is accepted on the wiki -Tolkyria (talk) 19:43, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ya know what? I just realized the file name is Splendid_Chest_keg, and it was not in conflict with anything I wanted to do in the first place. Oh... boy... - Ojimaru (talk) 20:53, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
- Haha! That's why I was confused. But at least now you know the switcheroo trick for next time. Thanks for all the hard work you've been doing, btw! —Idris 21:05, 22 August 2019 (UTC)

A tip on images[edit]
Just wanna say I love that you're updating some old images. But a small little something I see re-occurring: Can you try to get some color contrast between the NPC model and the background? E.g., File:Packheart.jpg is green on green, and File:Icebrood Goliath.jpg is white/blue on white/blue. It would be helpful if there's a contrast to make the model pop out more. Those you've uploaded are better than before, and I know from personal experience it can be hard to ensure there's that color contrast sometimes. Just something to keep in mind. Konig (talk) 10:30, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice. Yes, I do try to get frame them in contrast, when I can. Just tag those you'd like improved, and I, or somebody else, can try again. Cheers. - Ojimaru (talk) 12:26, 26 August 2019 (UTC)
Gourmet Training[edit]
Sorry, your addition of the Tixx's Toybox icon got lost in the edit conflict. That said, using Tixx's Toxbox doesn't really work, because it doesn't just display the icon, it also links to Tixx's Toybox. —Idris 14:51, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm putting the item icons there as a placeholder while I get started on creating the individual pages for the collection trophies. - Ojimaru (talk) 14:56, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
- Ah, ok. Normally I would have just put them back in after losing them in an edit conflict, but they didn't seem right here... personally, I think the placeholder is worse than the red link, because a user might click on it and then start to worry that they need a Tixx's Toybox for some reason. —Idris 14:59, 28 August 2019 (UTC)
