About Edit Comments

You recently overwrote a note I left on Zealot's Speed a long time ago, about how the in-game behavior didn't consistently match the trait description, and didn't write a summary for your edit.

When you contradict information that was previously on a page (especially information that was counter-intuitive but put there for a specific reason), but don't leave any comment in the edit log or on the discussion page, it's very difficult for someone else to tell whether you've exercised due diligence. Maybe you've carefully tested this in-game and the behavior has changed since my tests, or maybe I made some kind of mistake in my tests and you've figured out how to correct it...or maybe you're blindly trusting the in-game description and never even looked at the discussion page before overwriting my note. If you don't make any comment along with your edit, neither I nor any other wiki editor has any way of knowing.

So please put comments in your edits--all the time, really, but especially when you're contradicting a previous editor. --Felbryn (talk) 18:27, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

We don't require edit summaries on the wiki, it's at the editor's discretion. Players should go to the talk page or the user talk page of the editor (like this) if there is an issue.--Relyk ~ talk < 18:38, 9 October 2013 (UTC)

Maguuma Burl‎

First, while it was awhile ago, you can't blank your talk page, but you can archive it if you so desire. Second what do you mean by "stolen logo"? The old logo as far as I can tell (I don't watch Wooden Potatoes) looks identical to the icon for Maguuma Burl. - Do_odleplex 21:46, 19 August 2018 (UTC)

If I recall correctly, WP did state at one point that his logo (the potato made of wood) was an image he had initially just pulled of google. The he tripled it, rotated, added a panel with his name, and voila a logo. Although I wouldn't call it stealing since he never claimed credit for it, he also did not credit the initial image designer (if credit was to be had). His new/current logo was something made just for him, so it no longer causes issues. Keep in mind the previous few sentences are pulled from memories of videos I watched a few years ago, details may not be perfect.

That point aside, the burl icon is basically one of those potatoes rotated 180 degrees without the shading. I cannot possibly see how one could argue there is no resemblance to his old logo. Given that at the time of HoT he still ran with his old logo (or had just changed?), it would make perfect sense that a nod to WP would be made while using the old logo as opposed to whatever he may be using now.

Also he has used Burls to decorate his inventory when doing giveaways or similar in the past (I don't know about more recently, haven't watched a whole lot of his stuff lately) so he certainly thinks it looks like his old logo --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 21:18, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
