Heya, and welcome to the wiki. I, uh, fixed that smiley for you. :P Just ask if you need help with anything. If you're looking for editing basics, there's Help:Editing for you. Mediggo 08:28, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Editing 'Skill infobox'?[edit]

I'm fairly new to this wiki thingie and I wonder how I do to edit the 'Skill infobox'? I would like to add radius to various Area of Effect spells.

It's a mainspace template so it can be found in Template:Skill infobox. You should be careful to not mess it too badly, because all skill articles use that template and they will go awry if the template is not right. :P If you're not sure what you're doing (like me, I'm not very good at wiki code), leave a suggestion on the template's talk page. Sign your posts un talk pages ^_^[edit]

Hi, when you post on a talk page, sign your post by adding ~~~~ (four tildes) at the end. That will add a link to your userpage and the date of your post. User I Elite Starchild I Monk-tango-icon-200.png-Alarielle- 13:10, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

"don't really dare to edit some site-wide template myself"[edit]

I hope ya never do.

Generally people yell and call each other names when someone just changes anything site-wide without discussion first. People have the right to chime in on the issue before someone starts doing all sorts to the wiki. So while maybe one day you'll be implementing such changes (if they are approved by the community), only things such as typos should be changed without running it past others first. ;)

tl;dr: You did everything just the way you should have. Please never change. =) User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 19:28, 17 September 2011 (UTC)

However, if you copy the code for the template into a page within your user space (most commonly "User:Jkw/Sandbox"), you can play around with it in your user space, where it is not affecting any other pages. Note that copying does not mean moving (I am sure someone made this mistake before). Toying with code in your sandbox (or similar user space pages) can help increase wiki coding experience and knowledge and thus help you improve. We all started somewhere and we encourage all users interested in wiki code to do the same. Just keep testing in sandboxes (be it a personal sandbox or the wiki's public sandbox).
