In Guild Wars 1 my favorite profession was the Assassin. When combined with the Ranger secondary profession is was a fantastic build, better than the Dungeon and Dragons' Rogue which I love so much. The Guild Wars 2 Thief eliminates almost all long range attacks until you are well beyond level 80 and have the Path of Fire expansion, by which time you're so used to being gimped that it's hardly worth trying the Deadeye specialization. While I love playing the Thief, switching between it and other professions takes a rather steep change in mindset. Rather than attack, attack, attack, you have to switch to sneak attack, sneak attack, sneak attack, which is often hard to maintain if you play all of your characters often. In my view, the Thief, with it's ultra-low health & armor, basically needs to be your ONLY profession if you make it your main toon.--Enda - talk 16:57, 8 May 2020 (UTC)
- Updated Build: The old build was heavily based on stealth. The new build is a signet build, and is more in line with my other builds, as well as being more fun to play. --Enda - talk 12:56, 11 June 2020 (UTC)
- Updated Build: Discovered that I do need some stealth skills after all. --Enda - talk 17:54, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
