Dungeon[edit]
A dungeon is an instanced explorable zone. A dungeon has two modes that access different paths. In story mode, a single story path can be accessed. In explorable mode, one of three explorable paths can be accessed. Each path is defined by a chain of events providing a reward for completing the final event, this is synonymous to meta events.
Fractals of the Mists is a unique dungeon. The dungeon is an array of mini-dungeons. Each mini-dungeon is contained within an area. Each fractal acts as a path of the dungeon, where the fractal is randomly chosen from the hub. Think of a fractal as a dungeon with only a story mode, compacted into a single area.
It contains:
- Areas
- Two instances
- A story meta event - Initiated by talking to an NPC at the hub. Tells the story of the dungeon.
- Three explorable meta event - Initiated by talking to an NPC at the hub. Tells additional lore about the dungeon.
