Yuri Takano is a human Daredevil for The Order of Whispers. Hidden behind a cheerful exterior lies a master of acrobatics whose expertise lies in crippling venom attacks. Despite serving under Justine Xi as her subordinate, the two often argue with each other about the principles of morality and what it means to be an agent.

Yuri is a part of the "Odd Marbles", a group of Whispers agents from different backgrounds, coming together to work as a team for a betterment of Tyria. She also serves as the leader of said group, taking responsibilities in making decisions and looking after her teammates.

Currently, she is in a relationship with Emilie Cheong Silverlake, a fellow Whispers agent who doubles as her mentee she assists in training.

Personality

Yuri is often seen as outgoing and spunky towards her friends and strangers alike. Her casual, yet level-headed nature allows her to socialize with others she comes across positively, while respecting their boundaries and holding herself back when needed.

Yuri's more pragmatic side can be seen when her friends or associates are in danger, becoming defensive and even hostile to those who threaten them. While she would "fight fair" in a friendly spar, her restraints are withdrawn when the situation escalates into a life and death scenario, in which she is willing to do anything to eliminate the threat, even if said actions would later put herself at odds with others later on. This would be one of her main criticisms from Justine, who insists that she should stop playing a hero and become the deadly assassin the world needs, to which she argues that both aren't mutually exclusive.

Combat Abilities

Yuri is a standard Daredevil, specializing in using and applying Deadly Venom to her attacks, in addition to utilizing Trickery to keep her foes on their toes. A few agents, Justine included, have noted her association with air magic as well, with the speculation revolving around its usage as a mean to boost her mobility and enhance her physical attacks.

Yuri is a duelist at heart, capable of engaging in both melee and ranged, switching between one and the other as necessary. At melee range, she makes use of her venom-coated Tanto to make swift work of her opponent. Upon retreating into a distance, a short bow is used to engage her foes at range, varying from a cluster bomb fired from above, to a choking gas arrow for crowd-control effects. She also carries a number of Kunai and Caltrops as an alternative approach to attack if needed.

Trivia

• Yuri was made in-game via a Total Makeover Kit as a replacement for a character that would become Emilie, thus making her the "first" character according to GW2efficiency.
• Yuri also at one point, had an alter-ego as a Ranger in the game (which coincidentally was also made with a Total Makeover Kit over Embel), before that was replaced with a separate character named Leona.
• Yuri is a regular participant in Pit Fighting across Tyria, going by the name of "Yuri The Yoinker"
• Yuri has a pet dog named "Sesame", a small Jack Russell that also underwent Order of Whispers training.
