List of Weather types?[edit]

Should we list the different weather patterns? Or at least the ones that cause events, and where? --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 15:14, 23 October 2010 (UTC)

I don't see any harm in listing where weather events can occur that alter events. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 16:08, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Might be better placed somewhere other than "Trivia" tho. Zolann The IrreverentUser Zolann The Irreverent Mysterious Summoning Stone.png 20:15, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
I would like to see a more stronger article that focusses more about the "Environment(al Effect)" then just 'weather'. A small example is the watering mechanism outside Shaemoor at Shaemoor Fields. This mechanism causes the area to flourish, end up in drought or being poisoned. It still part of human (or other) artificial weather influence. One could say that this mechanism supports the food supply for Shaemoor and the capital city. Without this mechanism, the harvest would probably be less or perhaps the land would have been unusable? Also, this "Environment" could redirect to all the basic and large articles we have currently now for the Weather article (future), and could even sprout out more then we can just do with "Weather". Weather is still part of the environment. ge4ce 10:14, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
I considered that, but it is too general to work well, unless you make it a very, very broad category. If you consider something like that an environmental effect, you really need to fine-tune where to draw the line. Is using a bucket to water corn an environmental effect? Since it is done by the player and not by the environment, would it be something different? I think it's best to just leave weather as weather, and other effects elsewhere, so that none of these things get buried beneath other things. --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 14:06, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Also, to explain a bit farther; your example doesn't quite work either. Yes, yours is an environmental effect... but weather is not, in that sense. They don't control each other, to our understanding-- they don't intermix. They are 2 distinct features, and are probably best left as such. Weather is constant-- sometimes it has an effect, sometimes it doesn't, but it is still weather. Weather CAUSES the effects, whereas all your environmental effects are just that-- effects. The sprinkler turns off because someone did something; the sprinkler is poisoned because someone did something to it (Granted, you could say that it does cause an effect-- plants to grow; but that is sort of its singular purpose, whereas weather can seemingly do a plethora of things). To clarify my point a little farther, "weather" includes blizzards, sunshine, thunderstorms, etc. It's not just a title, it's a category in itself. It is practically on the same level as the title "Environmental effects", and to put it in such a category would put it out of place, seeing as how it (as I said earlier) is already like a category. --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 14:13, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

So...[edit]

So far I haven't seen the weather changing, not even being dynamic. Is this really implemented or just left out? 193.226.227.10 21:32, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
