Talk:Warhorn
Thank you, ArenaNet!-- Shew 22:08, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- I really don't see what this off-hand might add to the game, but that might just be me. :/ --Naoroji 22:10, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- I'm just glad they implemented an instrument...well...sort of.-- Shew 22:23, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
- It has multiple purposes! :D
- 1-- It adds variety to the game
- 2-- it could be useful for quests or missions
- 3-- it could be useful for PvP (similar effect to that of a flare, or some other "alerting" signal that could be detected from far away)
- 4-- It looks AWESOME! ;)
- Lol whatever the case may be, I'm excited for it. 173.190.17.186 00:59, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Uses?[edit]
I'm thinking Warhorns might be used as a type of motivational instrument rather than a weapon. It reminds me somewhat of a Bard in Dragon Age: Origins. They "sing", providing protection over the group. Maybe that's what its purpose will be in GW2, kind of like a Paragon's chants. --69.254.103.22 14:24, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, I thought paragon-comeback when I saw it, too. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 14:26, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe its like one of the shining blade warhorns and it'll summon allies maybe? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.180.215.3 (talk).
- surely it must be some kind of paragon like weapon. to me thatd be a perfect replacement for a monk. since this game will have much larger parties a horn could allow for aoe based heals/buffs etc as opposed to the traditional one person heals ArthasShadowsong 16:10, 29 May 2010 (UTC)
- I Personally think this will be a Purely offensive off-hand to counter the shield. Designed for DPS or damage focused warriors as opposed to a shield using damage taking [tank]warrior.--ErikMm 01:39, 10 June 2010 (UTC)

Damage Buffs[edit]
So basically, it's the reverse of a shield. More offense instead of more defense. Arshay Duskbrow 23:13, 9 June 2010 (UTC)
- Seems like it, and the buffs seem to be more party wide than singular.--Corsair
@Yarrr 23:20, 9 June 2010 (UTC)- I would assume the buffs could also be defensive though. Eive Windgrace 02:13, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- I agree, Corsair. It seems clear from the example given in the trait article that dual wielding is the best way to maximize personal offensive power. The warhorn probably gives skills that benefit multiple party members. Arshay Duskbrow 02:46, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- I suppose it you could use the Warhon in conjunction with weapon swapping to maximise damage. For example have a weapon/warhorn set and use an offensive buff then switch to your Dual Wielding Weapon set.(marsc 10:02, 22 June 2010 (UTC))
- The same could be said defensibly. Use a bunch of defensive warhorn buffs then switch to a weapon/shield combo. Eive 05:15, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Not just for warriors[edit]
The warhorn is not just for warriors: http://www.massively.com/2010/06/10/warriors-traits-and-combat-chatter-massivelys-interview-with/ Ramei Arashi 18:12, 10 June 2010 (UTC)
- No other professions with a warhorn have been confirmed yet, so only Warrior is on the page at the moment. --Odal talk 11:59, 22 June 2010 (UTC)
- I hope that the mesmer will be able to use it. Nathan ~ Natejh8 04:31, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
Warhorn in GWEN[edit]
Olrun Olafdottir holds a warhorn should this be mentioned? --Sahra Delona 09:11, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Not relevant, because she died a long time ago. 91.82.176.63 09:21, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
Awesomeness[edit]
I Am really liking the Warhorn. I haven't been able to play the demo for GW2 yet. But I really like the idea of a warhorn as a usable as a damaging and buffing weapon. I don't know if any other game has made a warhorn as a weapon before but I'm not sure about that. It must not be very common.--Yozuk 02:06, 26 August 2010 (UTC)
- I agree. I really think they pulled through on this when there was a huge room for error. I'll definitely have to use this, not sure on what profession though. Eive 05:17, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
