Same devourer, different roles

In Pick up a training kit and use the whip to train devourers how to destroy targets, there is really only one devourer. It can be a Undisciplined Lashtail Hatchling, Disciplined Lashtail Hatchling, or a Trained Lashtail Hatchling, but it is the same devourer. It doesn't disappear or get replaced, and its health persistents between Undisciplined and Disciplined states. So on the event page, I set all three links to the same page. I'm not sure this is the best approach, as it leaves the possibility of still creating those pages in the future based on a search result red link. We could add redirects? Feels like kind of a bait-and-switch to redirect, but we don't have separate pages for different phases of a boss. Thoughts? Adeira Tasharo (talk) 01:42, 20 January 2017 (UTC)

When an NPC changes name but is the same NPC, we (try to) use one page (most commonly seen name - in this case, I'd say the default for the event's state) and just set redirects at the other names. For where the NPC gets linked, if multiple names would show do a [[<first name seen>]]/[[<second name seen>]].

If, however, we would see those names in other situations without a name change, either all or just one, then individual articles are needed as they'd have different information.

I considered doing this myself back when I was investigating the Box of Training Kits but I got too busy with other things. Makes good sense to me. SarielV 15:51, 20 January 2017 (UTC)
