Talk:Underwater mode
underwater skills[edit]
So do the healing, utility, and elite skills always change to their underwater counterparts, or are you able to set different underwater skills in those places instead of the uw equivalents of your land-based skills?-- Shew 18:00, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- According to what they said, (and videos seen) they automatically get replaced... BUT not all of them. Only ones that clearly have an above-water affect only. Those that need to be changed are changed to their underwater equivalent (cos like, you can't roll for initiative underwater... so that changes to something that works underwater... But then your glyph of elemental harmony on your ele would stay the same) ~~ Kiomadoushi 18:04, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, thanks!-- Shew 18:05, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- (Edit conflict) x2 As far as I am aware you can lock land-utility skills for underwater use (if allowed) and have special underwater-utility skills as well. Someone who attended Fan Day could easily clarify this. - Infinite - talk 18:06, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hmmm...mmk. I'll check w/ Poke.-- Shew 18:10, 1 July 2011 (UTC)
- Hey I thought the z-axis works above ground too? Or is it meaning to say that the axis is more prominent underwater? --Xu Davella 12:37, 3 July 2011 (UTC)
- In the sense that one can jump, yes, but indeed my intent was its significantly greater utility. I felt that its vertical capabilities were noteworthy in the sense that it's not possible to have this same situation on land and Jon Peters was specifically emphasizing that in the OnRPG interview. Suggestions for improvement welcome; the 'except with the introduction of the use of a z-axis' especially can be reworded better...maybe 'with the greater prominence/use of the z-axis' or something. Also, thanks to ip for fixing my amphibious gaffe...I am ashamed! Redshift 13:11, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

(reset indent) If I remember properly, in the video from Gamespot they mention you can set underwater skills as you want, independently from the ground skills. Or maybe it was somewhere else ; I'll check it later if you want. -Alarielle- 20:20, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- That's correct. There are individual skill bars for land and water combat, it's mentioned about 8 minutes into their demo video. Sounds Risky | 20:56, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Updated in an attempt to address the utility skills and the z-axis combat considerations. Thanks for the GameSpot pointers. I took out the 'respective underwater equivalents' bit since it was clunky, confusing, and we have no actual examples to demonstrate how that would work at the moment. It'll come back at some point once there's more information.Redshift 19:15, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
Details[edit]
Underwater mode looks pretty awesome compared to other games uw mode. But I was thinking, it would be cool to see a few more details. Like sunrays shining down from above. Currents that you can push enemies into (or hop in yourself for faster travel), and maybe have sand puff up and swirl around when you touch the sea floor. --Moto Saxon 03:34, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
PvP?[edit]
Is there any word on whether there will pvp arenas that are solely, or at least largely, underwater. The whole 3D combat thing is generally mind boggling and fun and I for one would hate to miss out on itIndigo121 03:47, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
Do a barrelroll![edit]
Lol! I bet you will be able to roll side to side in mid swim to dodge. Am I guessing right?Yumiko ^,~ 01:55, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

How do you loot or interact with items underwater? --175.34.11.217 23:19, 20 January 2018 (UTC)
- The same way you would on ground - approach it and use the interact (default F) button. —Ventriloquist 00:09, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
