By default it seems like that the existing PvE build went into tab 1 and PvP into tab 2, so I assume WvW into tab 3. -- kazerniel (talk) 18:13, 2 November 2019 (UTC)

Yep the build template default is slot 1 = PvE, slot 2 = PvP , slot 3 = WvW. If only it would have a default by game mode... --Life Infusion «T» 02:44, 3 November 2019 (UTC)

(More visible) Link to Chat Link Format page?[edit]

Gonna hold off on doing this myself for now, but I feel like we should include a link to the Chat link format page, since if you're coming here wondering what the kitten that long, weird lookin string is, this page only briefly mentions that. Should we have something at the top like "Hey, if you're lookin for the actual format, head over here!" HealyUnit (talk) 19:30, 7 May 2020 (UTC)

Better now? :) DJemba (talk) 07:28, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

WvW and build templates[edit]

Re: "It is not possible to swap to another build tab using templates outside your Keep in World versus World." I don't think this is correct as I regularly swap templates in the middle of the map as long as out of combat. Will check it more in depth tomorrow. --Life Infusion «T» 04:58, 8 September 2020 (UTC)

Fractals[edit]

If build was changed

  • at least one time
  • before transition to OR from Mistlock Observatory, level 0

So far did not occur to/from Mistlock Sanctuary hub

Build Storage can only capture but not release[edit]

Is it true that Template#Build_Storage provides only a way to capture the current build from the current character into Build Storage, but there is no way to apply a build from Build Storage to the current character? This is only a one-way process? Why wasn't this half-baked incomplete implementation noticed during testing? 49.179.35.50 12:19, 23 September 2024 (UTC)

Any chance you are trying to apply the build that belongs to a different profession? Also not sure what happens if you didn't unlock the elite specialization but its part of the build.--Genie (talk) 14:16, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
The GUI is a pretty poorly designed mess in that the left-hand-side Build/Traits tab lists Traits in rows under their Specialisations' name but the right-hand-side Build Template tabs list Traits in columns beside their Specialisations' icon. Selecting a Specialisation presents you with their icons, and the cursor needs to hover over each to find the right name for the Specialisation you want. (To keep things inconsistent, the Training tab displays Traits' icons in rings!) Once you've got your build set up you can click anywhere in a Build Storage row to store it there where other characters can access it. To retrieve the build, you have to hover the cursor over that row in Build Storage until a secret chevron appears at the far right edge of that row; click the secret chevron and it will apply the build from left-hand-side Build Storage to the current right-hand-side Build Template tab.
The old Trait system that improved attributes was far, far clearer and superior.
I think a walkthrough would improve accessibility.
