The wording in the skills saying that the shovel may break seems odd to me. I've never had a shovel break while using the sonar skill, and I've never had a shovel not break using the dig skill. --★KOKUOU★ 04:29, 9 November 2014 (UTC)
After using about 25 shovels in a row the next 4 did not have a Sonar skill. The shovel would work if I found a mound, but that skill was not visible or available. Separ (talk) 14:26, 13 February 2015 (UTC)

Feedback 2020/01/25[edit]
The Sonar skill (2) is actually far better at revealing hidden mounds than the green pointers would indicate. You may have noticed that often, the revealed mound is a bit further from the end of the green pointer. My rudimentary testing indicates that using the shovel 2 skill will reveal mounds in a circle about twice the radius of the limit of the green lines. In fact many of the revealed mounds will have no green line pointing to them at all. This is why is is almost always a good idea to use the 2 skill even before using the 1 skill on a mound. Even if you don't see any green lines, you still may have revealed a new mound outside the radius of the green pointer lines. Do shovels actually drop from killed creatures? I've only ever seen them as event rewards. BenLubar (talk) 16:46, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
