Feedback 2017/07/29[edit]

I added some of the post-mission interactions with objects, but the NPCs have additional dialog. Not sure how to update the incomplete reason. --Continuum Splat (talk) 06:22, 30 July 2017 (UTC)

Feedback on Achievements done in party 2018/01/14[edit]

Regarding the achievement section, one line has been misplaced. I just did all these achievements (first tried solo then with an other player) and the second player (not the one who launched the instance) is able to help for the Precision Blade achievement. The second player appearance is changed into a shining blade agent but the skills stay the same and his/her kills count towards the achievement. I think this line should go to the Fearless and Fearful achievements where indeed the second player is teleported to the viewing platform. However it is not exactly true that he/she is unable to help. There is a unique skill available to "cheer up" the instance laucher, that will make his/her skills recharge faster. --Faflard (talk) 14:19, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

Edited the achievement section as described. --Faflard (talk) 14:41, 21 January 2018 (UTC)

Referring to the PC?[edit]

Throughout this instance, my human female character was constantly referred to as 'he' and 'him', and the line about not being human popped up as well. My female human character launched the instance; but I did have a male human with me as a guest. Could this instance be bugged? If so, the non-human reference remains, because we were both humans. It really disrupted my immersion, to tell the truth. Oh... and the 'insecurities' make little sense. This isn't the wiki's fault, I know, but... Rytlock's lines about Rox are crazy, and so are Eir's about Braham. Rytlock mentioning Logan just proves these aren't real insecurities, and Eir mentioning her death does the same. Caithe... is weird. (Seriously, Marjory even avoided saying her name earlier in the Season). So anyway, can somebody check on the he/she and human/not-human things? Thanks in advance. I just did this story for the first time. I was a female Sylvari. It kept referring to me as "he" and "him." I was alone, so no male characters with me, except maybe my sylvan hound, Bark. There's my feedback anyway. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 135.23.32.213 (talk).
I got this too on my female norn. There's a few lines where she's gendered correctly ("You told her about the oath?"), but by and large it's wrong. --Imry 23:26, 18 January 2019 (UTC)

Feedback 2018/12/19[edit]

Tried recently to complete the Fearless achievement with a friend, it's quite impossible right now. Tried with minions, clones, phantasm and turrets; all give the Manifestation of Self-Doubt the Dynamic Damage Reduction buff with every hit, add the fact it's only "vulnerable" for 2 seconds after a 600 point defiance bar, and, before you know it, all your skills get +80 seconds of recharge and you're basically unable to defeat it. Other things I noticed, minions and clones seems to lose the 95% damage reduction, and it get Dynamic Damage Reduction even from every pulse of condition, but I may be wrong on that. 79.53.127.85 09:45, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

Minions always added stacks to that. The tactic behind using minions is that they don't have any recharge on their attacks. Doesn't quite work with phantasms or turrets since those disappear over time (same with other summons). Konig (talk) 18:04, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
Minions die istantly against the Manifestation of Self-Doubt, how it's different from using clones or turrets then? and what's the point of using them if they keep 20 stacks of Dynamic Damage Reduction constantly up? By the way, it is still impossible to kill a boss with only a couple of seconds of vulnerability and a global cooldown of more than one minute on every skill, luckily I've done it when the chapter went live and mesmer phantasms kill the Manifestation of Self Doubt just by auto-attacking. 212.216.208.213 13:57, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
Your statements "what's the point of using them if they keep 20 stacks of Dynamic Damage Reduction constantly up?" and "mesmer phantasms kill the Manifestation of Self Doubt just by auto-attacking" rather contradict each other, as the latter would result in maxing the stats of Dynamic Damage Reduction. Konig (talk) 14:17, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
I said I beat it when the chapter went live, when Dynamic Damage Reduction where caused only by players skills and not clones/phantasm/minions/turrets; by the way, at that time, phantasms remained until killed, so shields phantasm keeped permanent slow on the Manifestation of Self Doubt, breaking it's defiance in just a couple of attack each, and Signet of the Ether healed every second for each illusion. Basically used a couple of Echo of Memory and went afk ^^ 212.216.208.213 12:50, 24 December 2018 (UTC)
And I won't say this isn't a poorly designed foe. It is, horribly so. But that's pretty typical of LW Team 3. Their other works had some poor design decisions too (A Crack in the Ice having three "invulnerable bosses", and Long Live the Lich map is wholly inconsistent with its foes compared to Ep1 and 2, and half the map is pointlessly barren of content), so it's par the course, sadly. Konig (talk) 14:17, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
FYI, Anet said that people from team 3 in LW3 aren't the same people who made Long Live the Lich. Can't find the source atm, but it was on forum somewhere. ~SimeUser Sime Maraca Choya.pngTalk 16:05, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
You may be thinking of this comment, however, Conner does state that there is still overlap. There is, however, this comment by Linsey Murdock, who is a team lead, where she confirms A Star to Guide Us was the 'same team' as "the 1st and 4th episodes for season 3 & 4". I'd take Linsey Murdock's comment over Conner's, personally. But together it sounds like the core team remains the same, but a number of folks shift around across all three. Feedback March 2nd 2019[edit]

So what is the gimmick to beat this and get Fearless AP, since it's obvious normal game play won't work. If you attack it becomes invulnerable, and your skills take too long to recharge. tired of the pointless unskippable NPC dialog, and no solution as far as I can tell Reanne (talk)

You have to buff your character up then go full damage (ideally condi damage with a ton of duration). You can also do the same but go power, but not every class/weapon can do it in only a few skill activations.--Rain Spell (talk) 07:07, 3 March 2019 (UTC)
As an alternative to going full glass cannon, I just cheesed this achievement using a full Minstrel herald revenant (that I had used for the previous Hold the Line achievement). Kept Facet of Light active, plus health regeneration food and Runes of the Grove for extra regen/protection, then just slowly cycled through my weapon skills and utility skills. It took a long time, but I never dropped below 95% health. Gets easier once you hit 25 stacks and the allies start giving you alacrity. Fam (talk) 21:10, 12 January 2022 (UTC)

Feedback 2023/01/19[edit]

It seems that using jade bot gliding isn't as useful anymore for the "Hold the Line" achievement, as being too high will cause something to push you off of whatever you're standing on. For reference, it is quite easy to get on top of a tent in the room with just gliding, but trying to get the very top of the tent, or behind the tent peak in this way, will cause this effect to activate. Joshyman (talk) 13:01, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Addendum: This effect doesn't appear to be applied evenly across the arena and the jade bot method can still be used on specific branches, but you may still get cleaved by White Mantle Mesmers. Joshyman (talk) 13:15, 19 January 2023 (UTC)

Feedback 2023/06/25[edit]

It seems the Jade Bot mastery has been blocked from usage in the story instance.
