Jumping the gun[edit]

Be careful when changing things around because of what other pages say. Those pages themselves may not be accurate. Like the note at the top of the page says, everything above 150 are basically a wild guess. I plan on getting it documented this weekend, but even so, things could still change after that, and after the game releases. The wiki can only be the most accurate current representation of the facts as they are. Wombatt 21:04, 17 July 2012 (UTC)

Dowels[edit]

Dowels are refined from planks, and listed under the Refinement heading in the crafting window. If that doesn't make them refinements, I don't know what does. Going to revert. User Wombatt Dowel refinement.png Wombatt 00:00, 8 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you. I seriously do not understand what sets a crafting material apart from a crafting component. Until now I thought that raw, bought and items which where refined once are materials, things which are crafted from refined materials would be components, but your screenshot proves me wrong. A Copper Filigree or any other filigree is a crafting component but a dowel is not how i seems. Or did it I got anything wrong? - Yandere Talk to me... 06:11, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
An item can be categorized as more than one of those things. Gemstones, for example, can be upgrade components, crafting materials, or refinements, depending on how they're used/made. A dowel is kind of the same: it's refined, but also a crafting material and component. I think of "crafting component" as something that's ready to use without any more changes, like a rifle stock or bow string. Wombatt 12:00, 8 August 2012 (UTC)
Added 'refinement' as a type option for the crafting infobox. Any items with this time will display "Refined materials" in the infobox, linking to this page. They will also be categorized into the category 'Refined materials' which I'll make a sub category of crafting materials. Refinement Discovery[edit]

How do new refinement recipes get discovered (e.g. for Bolt of Wool, Cotton, etc.)? Do they get automatically added to your recipes as your level increases, do/can you buy them from vendor(s), or do/can they be discovered using the discovery tab? Can someone who has a better knowledge than me of this, please add the information to this site. Preferably with level requirements, etc. ~~ Titus The Third --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 85.19.215.98 (talk).
