Talk:Party
So we are still able to create parties in pve, even in areas which aren't instanced?84.193.174.82 13:33, 26 June 2011 (UTC)RvB3

- That doesn't mean your effects only affect party members, mind you. - Infinite - talk 14:43, 26 June 2011 (UTC)
- Right, in the open world, you can, but you don't actually need to party up. With this said, anyone know how this would work? Will player information show in the upper left as if they were in a party? Or would you have to click individual players to view their current status'? I mean, their helping eachother out, or at least probably have similar goals; so their technically in a party right? SpiritSplit 18:45, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- There is currently no interface for allies on the same event as you. Such interface is reserved solely for an actual party. - Infinite - talk 20:09, 25 July 2011 (UTC)
- Figures. That'll have to be added as a suggestion. --SpiritSplit 20:12, 29 July 2011 (UTC)

Tango Icons[edit]
It seems like the screenshots depicting the party interface could be used as the most recent"official" tango icons to me... The only real difference I can spot is the Thief Icon, though.--Tuomir 17:02, 23 July 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, Aspectacle has already created a tango icon for the one you are referring to. Just see this. 17:08, 23 July 2011 (UTC)

Finding Party Members[edit]
I just started playing. My friend and I created a party.. I had to hard key his name into my party window.. The game now says that we are in a party, but his icon is just a black outline of him and I can seem to find him. When we created out characters we made sure that we were in the same server.. Is there different districts? I am a Norn Ranger and he is a Norn Warrior. Any tips on how to find him? When we started we were on team speak talking and saying Ok I am buy the starting point (the room with the fire/furnace inside) .. .. and well we were both standing basically in the same spot but neither could find the other. Varuuth 23:56, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- Late reply, but to answer your question, if it shows a black outline, it means the player is not in the same instanced area/server as you are in. The starting area you were in was outside in a pve explorable area, it's possible one of you got transferred to a overflow server. If you go inside to an outpost like Lions Arch, you can meet up with your party members as they are no overflow options at outpostsWracken 16:25, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
- You are wrong overflows are everywhere, especially on high population worlds... nor is there any Join In feature to get people to get out or into Overflow and back. I think its a bug or missing feature. Furthermore, this whole system sucks, stranded players in our own worlds not to mention EU, ASIA, and US can't even play together because of regions... all because of a beautifully thought out but pve ruining thing called WvWvW. My ally from gw 1 had to play by their place of purchase. We lost all of our EU and Pacific/Asia region players. WTF anet?Yumiko ^,~ 01:36, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
Lol youre all wrong. WvW can only be played together if you Home a world. Later on a guest system will be implimented which allow home server peeps hang out with EU/US/ETC. peeps. What is necessary is that Anet needs to add an easier way of getting together. Like selecting specific districts in GW1 but with overflow servers on a home server. This would make getting together much simpler.
Buff Priority?[edit]
Let's say you are surrounded by your party and other allies and you use a "up to # nearby allies" skill like "Retreat!". Does the skill prioritize giving the boon to your party first? I think this was my experience during the beta, but I want someone to confirm it before I add it to the page as part of the list of party advantages. Karew 22:58, 21 May 2012 (UTC)
Shard?[edit]
hi guys, just wondering does anybody know what a shard is?

join in[edit]
Did the join in option for party with players from different home worlds never get implemented for pve?
Annoyed[edit]
Every event or dungeon has a horde of people around it spamming LFG or LF3M or otherwise begging people to join them. What happened to the Party Search window from GW1? (The 'Y' key in GW2 brings up a party search window, but no one seems to use it.) Why is it that when I right-click on someone's name, only rarely does it give me "Invite" or "Join" options, and usually I have to type "/invite Player Name" and hope I spelled it right? And even then, more often than not, nothing happens? Why is it such a pain to find people to go into a dungeon with? - Brian Kendig 04:43, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Feedback 2020/08/24[edit]
I could not locate any documentation for the 5 party markers that can be placed on the map or mini-map with the radial control that is brought up by Shift+Left-Click. It contains:
- Red Sword
- Blue Shield
- Yellow Caution
- Red Circled X
- Red Circular Dot Pattern
Each marker is only visible for a few seconds and are surrounded by expanding and contracting rings of their color. A chord-sound is played when any marker is placed.
I think they will be of limited use due to their short duration. --Separ (talk) 05:27, 24 August 2020 (UTC)
