I was big sad to see that they didn't bother making her look anything like her actual model in Factions, besides the armour I suppose, she looks nothing like she did on the box art. :( (https://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Nika) --Eruru (talk) 13:19, 13 March 2022 (UTC)
- The only GW characters who really look like themselves in GW2 are Koss, Dunkoro, and maybe Kormir. The rest look like any other NPC you might run into in the game. It's disappointing, to say the least.

i dont understand how arenanet fixing their past whitewashing and updating nika's appearance to be more canthan (which is her ethnicity mind you) is lore discrepancy. its 2022 people can we stop being weird about this sort of thing?
- I agree it is not really a discrepancy that she looks different to her echo, since the Mists do not have to show 100% accurate things and that's well established. Not sure personally how I feel about the rest (her looking different to her GW1 appearance), since I wouldn't really say it was whitewashing since Cantha =/= Asia (at least not 1:1), it is (or was) basically Eurasia. ~Sime 03:34, 14 March 2022 (UTC)
- I would argue it is a Lore discrepancy because real-world reasons are irrelevant to the lore. She’s not a background NPC, she’s a box art character. Why ever they decided on a Tyrian face, they did so in Factions, an expansion where they had access to all the Canthan faces and assets they wanted. Her GW1 lore even addresses her father is unknown, and she was born near a large international port. Then GW2 makes her Mists model which is spot on to her original GW1 appearance, further confirming her appearance. The EOD contradicts all previous canonical versions of her, so it is a Lore discrepancy. --Techstriker1 (talk) 18:14, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
- I assumed her not being a "pure" Canthan was the primary reason she became a target of the Ministry.
Dialogue[edit]
She says her (mai's?) "Ancestors" are out there, but surely she means descendents? Should this be mentioned somewhere on the main page? 103.156.192.98 11:01, 9 May 2022 (UTC)
