Talk:List of guardian traits
Still no one released any video of guardian traits? Unbelievable. Glastium 01:25, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

- Thanks! Do you know what the Bond traits in Valor do? The wording isn't really helpful. ~Ekko (talk) 20:13, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- No idea unfortunately. I was thinking as I wrote them that they basically made no sense, but *shrug* Thrade 21:44, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
- My guess would be that activating your Virtues gives allies an additional boon (Courage grants Might and Smiting, not just Smiting, for example), but I don't have any actual confirmation, so I'm hesitant to edit the pages. This worries me, because the current description of the traits makes it sound like everyone gets these boons all the time, which is almost certainly not true. Any suggestions? ~Ekko (talk) 02:58, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
- Well, we can at least create the pages we don't already have for these, right? I do agree that's probably what they mean, but it'd be speculative really. --ஸ Kyoshi 03:14, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

Unconfirmed Trait Lines[edit]
Are there any for Hammer, Mace and Greatsword. I'm assuming there will be and a note should be added to the page so it looks like other profession trait pages. --Saxon 06:12, 17 March 2011 (UTC)
Descriptions[edit]
Is there a reason why all traits descriptions were rewritten on this page? I would prefer the real in-game text, by far. Chriskang 01:26, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, that's something I've been wondering a bit recently as well. A good few articles are created with exact in game text, then later modified a bit, perhaps to sound better grammatically, and still containing the same info, but still, it's different. Do we have any policies/preferences on this? Personally, I also like the idea of the text here exactly matching in game. Thrade 00:02, 25 March 2011 (UTC)
Missing Honor Grandmaster Trait[edit]
You can find it here at around 3:22: Might of the Virtuous: Any aegis you apply gives might when it is renewed. I think the reason it was omitted in the article was because it shares the same name as the Virtue Grandmaster Trait (3:29). Can someone please add it? --Messenger 07:30, 28 February 2012 (UTC)
Typo?[edit]
possible typo.
under honor
per point
+10 vitality +10 COMPASSION --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 66.27.207.211 (talk).
- Compassion is + healing, as per the trait blog, I don't think we can confirm if the + Healing that one trait line from every profession has is compassion or just a self-healing. As the traits mentioned in the blog sound different from what we saw in the Press Beta Konvay the Conveyer 03:44, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes the Healing is the compassion attribute, no worries about that. You can check the page history to see what it was before we got what the names actually were. ---BlakDoxa 04:08, 2 March 2012 (UTC)
I Can't See[edit]
Someone with an eye for color please adjust the top row and the first column, the text is really hard to read on that dark of a blue! Appreciate it :) Konvay the Conveyer 13:56, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- Based on the color palette for guardians, the next lightest color is the one used for Minor/Major. Would that look fine? --JonTheMon 14:23, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- How about not using the border colours for those cells, but the standard profession colour palette instead even if that means there is no special colour for minor and major. Would look better for all of them and only requires adjustments to 1 template. - Infinite - talk 14:32, 12 March 2012 (UTC)
- I can see, thank you! The tables itself gives enough separation of column, so this is greatly appreciated. Konvay the Conveyer 21:52, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

Removed/Renamed Traits[edit]
The following traits have been removed according to this video.
- "Zealous Courage" (replaced by Symbolic Exposure)
- "Rightous in the Face of Death" (replaced by Symbolic Power)
- Shield of Courage (replaced by Virtue of Retribution)
- Elusive Power (replaced by Virtue of Retribution)
- "Meditative Revival"
- "Purifier's Justice"
Sorry, I don't know how to edit the auto-list thing. --Messenger 07:54, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- Updates to the list are made directly on the trait(itself)'s page. Konvay the Conveyer 17:49, 28 March 2012 (UTC)
- Got it. Just did the same for the list of mesmer traits. Thanks! --Messenger 10:49, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
Added descriptions[edit]
Each of these trait lines has a link to a page that has the same information here plus a description of the trait line. Why not just put the descriptions here and leave out the extra page?
September 14 update[edit]
As seen here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Update-Notes-September-14th-2012
- Defender’s Shield and Honorable Shield: Merged together into the same trait.
- New trait Glacial Heart: Critical hits with a hammer have a 50% chance to chill your target for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 45 seconds.
Can anyone check the in-game descriptions and update this page accordingly? Thanks.
Blasts & Light Fields[edit]
Can someone add a note in the table for Selfless Daring, specifying that it's a Combo Field Blast, like we have for Retaliatory Subconscious?
- The problem is that Retaliatory Subconscious actually lists that effect in its description - it's the only trait that does this. A lot of other traits create combo fields and finishers, but none of them show it in the tooltip. The "Description" column here only shows the trait's in-game description. —Dr Ishmael 04:34, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
updating traits[edit]
I'm going to try updating traits tonight, BUT only the ones that already have existing pages. I don't know how to make new ones, nor do I know the proper method for delete/archive the ones that aren't around now. Any/all help welcome. Feel free to mail, pm me in game Quiznos.4296 Quiznos (talk) 21:52, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- To create a new page, just type the name of the trait into the wiki's search box. It will return no results but will give you a prompt to create the page; click the red link and you'll get a blank edit box. You can copy the wiki-code from an existing page to get started with the new one.
- To mark the old traits, add
| status = historical
to the infobox. —Dr Ishmael 22:11, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
