- The above linked picture is different than that one. they are not the same. I would guess that the first pic was a true krait, and the one with all spiky bits is orrian undead. Zolann The Irreverent 21:17, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- If krait can evolve on the spot in GW1... why are we worrying about one looking slightly different? Reez 21:19, April 2011 (UTC)

@ Zolann, here is the photo on the website i referenced and the artist calls it and orrian krait. it is the same --Moto Saxon 00:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)as the concept art on this page, which infinite just tagged as also an orrian krait. So there may be Krait and then sub types. Or they may have all evolved, I guess we are not sure on that yet. --Moto Saxon 21:28, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, they are in fact different. They are not the same concept art so it's merely assumptions to say that they depict the same thing. Look at the one called Orrian Krait - the right of the face and the back of the head are twisted, among other portions of the body, much like in the style of these guys, the concept art on the page has no such twisting. The only similarity the concept art on the article atm has with any kind of Orrian undead is the grayness. I don't think they are the same at all simply because the image on the article lacks any twisting of the skin. -- Konig/talk 00:07, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- well then, I'll just creat an orrian krait page. No biggy. --Moto Saxon 00:37, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Why would you do that? We don't create pages for every single concept art filename. Chriskang 00:46, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Saxon, your most recent post reads as very passive aggressive. And I must agree with Chris and Konig in that a) they are different and b) we don't make random pages for every concept art. Aqua (T|C) 01:30, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- No, I'm not being passive aggressive. If I was pissed off I'd tell you. It seemed like a valid thing to add to me. We have other similar pages with little to no info, such as the Branded Minotaur, which have no reference as to where they came from listed on either the page or talk page. Are they not also based off of concept art? If they are in a book or were found in a game preview, shouldn't the references be on the pages? I'm still new to editing wiki's (and learning what does and does not belong)...that's why I posted here first instead of trying to change something right off the bat. --Moto Saxon 03:28, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- I'm sure we got the Branded Minotaur info from the Charr gameplay awhile back. And yes, references should be on the page, but you'll find that frequently the person who makes the page doesn't add it, and everyone forgets about it shortly. - 03:44, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Definitely from the demos - every creature or monster page I've created I've created it because I've identified the name from demo footage. My current gw2 project is "shit monster screenshots from demos". I'm halfway through my set of videos - I'll upload the images when I have a good set. :) -- aspectacle 03:52, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

- "shit monster screenshots from demos". I downloaded every 720p and 1080p demo footage available on youtube (to extract skill icons) so I might be able to help with your project, Aspectacle. Maybe you could upload what you have now and we'll do the rest together? Chriskang 07:21, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Yup sure. :) I'll do a bit of clean up on the images I have but that shouldn't take too long. Do you think I should upload to main space or user space? Do you want a project? -- aspectacle 07:48, 12 April 2011 (UTC)
- Starting a project sounds like a good idea. We'll discuss the specifics on the project page. Chriskang 08:31, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

Religion[edit]
- Anyone else think the krait religion seems similar to how the Prophets ran the Covenant in the Halo series? >-> ~~Goofy similarities
- personally i think tis is just another charr flame leigion waiting to happen Danw 20:21, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- No, that's the centaurs where the shaman caste (not flame legion, though they were a major supporter of the shaman caste - or rather, most of the shaman caste were part of the flame legion) for them is the modniir. The centaurs even have the whole "one group subjugating all other groups of the race" and the "dey took our homelands!" situation. -- Konig/talk 00:46, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- i was just sayin with the 'religion rules all' and 'oh look a shiny/powerful thing, lets worship it' scenarios but if u say its modniir then its modniir - im not big on the lore so ill go with whatever Danw 21:09, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Seems to be pretty much identical to some of H.P. Lovecraft's creations, specifically from "The Shadow over Innsmouth"
Types[edit]
Threw in a list for known types of krait on the presumption that we can compile types and professions complete with links at a later date. Not started links to (currently inexistant) specific articles on the premise that we don't have enough info; but hope to do so later in the production of GW2 Darke 12:37, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Monsters don't necessarily have professions. 174.252.64.148 12:58, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Certainly they don't have to have professions, but that seems to be an underlying game mechanic within guild wars; after all, PvE is going to be a bitch if all the skills your monsters use can't be used in kind, or recognised as being X-Type of skill (I.E "Oh that's a warrior skill, probably an attack, a stance or a shout!" etc) Darke 23:53, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think what the situation will simply be that monsters have their own racial skills and professions, and their skill bars only use the racial skills. That, or mechanically speaking they made a 9th profession which has no skills. Or perhaps they have made many non-player professions (mesmers!). -- Konig/talk 00:46, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Racial Sympathy?[edit]
Will one be able to have racial sympathy for the Krait, like the Quaggan? Or not?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.181.65.139 (talk • contribs).
- Doubt that. Krait is evil, evil. Quaggan fears Krait. And neither will be playable at release. Dynamic events in the game might give us a deeper impression on their background though, so who knows what could happen. Ge4ce-Talk-Contribs 19:26, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
Religion vs. Government[edit]
In response to Kyoshi's last summary for editing (which was in turn a response to my summary): "their religion and government are the same thing basically" - true, yet also false. They are led by their religious leaders, not by their faith. They are a theocracy. Separate sections can still be made, and I for one like consistency - which for race pages seem to be having an order of headings as:
- Physiology
- Culture (general culture stuff)
- Religion (culture specifically related to their faith/belief)
- Government (who/what leads them and how)
- History
We clearly don't have (enough?) history so that's cut out, but the government is, in simplest terms, "they are led by the priesthood" while their religion is, in simplest terms, "they believe in the prophets." -- Konig/talk 16:58, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
- I just think the distinction is vague, since the religion guides (or is guided by) the governing body of priests. Aside from that, the role of the priests as a governing body isn't noted very explicitly in that article. But if you want to add what we have, putting the priests in the government section and the beliefs in a religion section, go ahead. --ஸ Kyoshi 18:44, 6 May 2011 (UTC)
Non Playable Races[edit]
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, so feel free to move this to wherever. I'd like to offer to make a page for non playable races that will link to all of them. right now searching the word "race" brought me to the playable races, yet there are a number of lored races (such as this one) and it'll be fun to be able to navigate between them. I've no idea how to do that though... User:Sreuiajur p.s. - how do I create an account?
- The page you are wanting to make exists at Bestiary. This is not where to put such. To create an account, click to the log in link at the top right of the page, then click create account. 19:49, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Metapmorphosis[edit]
Looks like they took Metamorphosis out of the equation, and they no longer are able to transform into other shapes like Devouss, Necross, Hipnoss and Arcanoss. There's still Hypnoss around, though. Was any explanation ever given to that? MithTalk 17:33, 15 September 2012 (UTC)
Easter egg[edit]
Um... If you watch lego Ninjago you notice this already, but the Krait are slightly I'd say based off of the serpentine (generals only, they have tails, not feet.) Mostly looks like Fangtom if he only had one head and greenish. Just sayin. ^u^ -Mini --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 163.230.236.4 (talk).
- Not sure if this is serious or not, but GW2's design of krait predate Ninjago by a couple years as best I can tell. Not to mention there's only so many ways you can design upright snakes - a concept that's existed since aztec and asian mythology (if not others). Konig 17:20, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
