Copper ore salvages from level 19-53 items? That can't be right. According to the other ore listings, plat salvages from 49-52 and mithril salvages from 54-80, so according to wiki, there is no armor or weapon level range that will salvage into platinum only? That has to be off.

Except for very low-level items, which always salvage to tier 1 materials (copper ore, green wood, jute), every item's salvage table contains 2 tiers of material. There's a small chance to get the higher-tier material that can be increased based on which salvage kit you use. Also, the level ranges given on these pages are purely anecdotal and based on player experiences, so they may not be 100% accurate - specifically, the range given for platinum seems way too small. —Dr Ishmael 14:59, 23 November 2014 (UTC)

Material promotion recipe

I'm trying to bump copper to iron but it seems that recipe doesn't work - MF materials panel doesn't recognize Philosopher's Stone: https://i.imgur.com/7E4qtoo.jpg I can select it manually from panel but it doesn't produce correct recipe for promotion (Forge button doesn't light up) --178.43.138.88 18:54, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

That had to be some temporary bug because I repeated everything right now and I've got proper recipe working and iron ore in return; that was weird.--178.43.138.88 22:29, 5 October 2018 (UTC)

The mystic forge can sometimes be finicky in what order you add things, I've had it myself a few times for recipes. Basically I just close the window, open it again and try a different order, usually works. - Do_odleplex 23:04, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
