Grammar pedantry

Lol, and it got edited while I was writing the above. I think "beetle's" was correct, too. The Veteran Follower of Zintl is a hylek; the beetle is merely their mount. So "collect their beetle's juice" implies "collect the juice belonging to the hylek's beetle", whereas "collect their beetle juice" implies "collect the beetle-juice belonging to the hylek". -Idris (talk) 16:43, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

Yes, beetle's is awkward, and a missed opportunity, but correct. I tried to keep the (sic) minimally applied; this is just getting silly now.

'Their' is more legitimate when you don't know the gender of the referenced party. Presumably, ANet does know. Besides, the entire point of (sic) IS grammar pedantry.

Nah, "h" is a consonant, and "an" is only used before words beginning with a vowel sound.

Oh, you snuck an extra sentence in there when I wasn't looking! Sneaky. Anyway, even if ANet knows the gender of the hylek, we don't, so it doesn't seem like an unreasonable choice to refer to them using an indefinite pronoun. At least, not to the extent of warranting a (sic) tag, imo.
