It's listed as a category of swords, so I don't see why it should be deleted.-- Shew 17:27, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

"Category: Candidates for deletion", i see no swords + We deleted the Conditions article because it isent here yet.so i dont see why we need to add the Weapons either, NPC's, Pictures and Videos are our currently priority. --Neil2250 , The Zoologist User Neil2250 sig icon5.png 17:32, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
Did you not read the article? :P-- Shew 17:42, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
i certainly did. but all im saying is.untill games realease, we shouldent add weapon catorgarys due to them being prone to 'OMFG LEET WEAPON HAX' vandalism, Also i reinstate this again: We deleted the Condition Article due to there not being enougth info + The game isent out yet, so if we could keep that consistent till nearer the games realease, ide be happy. --Neil2250 , The Zoologist User Neil2250 sig icon5.png 17:45, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
'We' deleted the conditions article because it wasn't even certain that conditions will be named conditions in GW2. Also, we didn't have any examples, or references. Here, however, we have sample pics of concept art, Greatsword being confirmed as a weapontype, as well as multiple references. --Naoroji User Naoroji Sigavatar.jpg 22:20, 28 April 2010 (UTC)

Just imagine....[edit]

Asuran Warrior with the biggest greatsword you can find. --Sage Talk 14:11, 2 July 2010 (UTC)

Yeah. With Rush.
The tiny little thing moves faster due to holding a weapon twice his / her size. How's that work? User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 14:29, 2 July 2010 (UTC)
oh that's easy, they have a thing called compacted power :p --AlbinoAce 14:02, 14 July 2010 (UTC)
Just watch, they'll dissect an Asura and find over 9000 duracell batteries inside :P --Sage Talk 20:59, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Greatsword for Ranger?[edit]

Am i the only one who thinks that a ranger using a greatsword messed up? theyre meant to be agile fighters of the woods or whatever... where does a massive two handed sword fit into that?--83.67.86.24 21:09, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Sometimes, things get personal. ПALANA 22:29, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes, case in point, Aragon in Lord of the Rings. He uses a two handed sword and is a major inspiriation for the modern 'ranger' idea, as well as the old DnD roots. If you really want to talk about this, go to GW2G, plenty of talks about this and elementalists using daggers over there.--Corsair@Yarrr 22:31, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I thought legolas was the ranger, with the whole bow thing going on, and aragon just used swords. but its been years since i saw those movies :P ПALANA 22:44, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Aragorn was a ranger of the north, Legolas was a prince. According to the books anyhow. Themastermoo 22:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
whatever, legolas was the kickass archer, and the ranger in guild wars is a kickass archer :D ПALANA 01:45, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
Should've been a hammer, not a greatsword. Zolann The IrreverentUser Zolann The Irreverent Mysterious Summoning Stone.png 21:02, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
Why would a ranger carry around a hammer? ~ Bow User Bow Sig.png | 21:06, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
I have no idea 160.114.149.1 21:18, 13 September 2010 (UTC)
why not putting in sword dual wielding for rangers? think about it, just to avoid an army of sylvari bearing the name "Drizzt" :P. Oh , seriously, respec to strenght and a ranger would use great sword better than a warrior (given a properly decent weaponskill set....) (Reset indent) Did someone call? Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 22:36, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

Eehehehe nothing personal, i will go for sylvari ranger too (like a ton of other users as far as i ve noticed). Maybe it s an obvious choiche, but i cannot give up to the idea. (Oh well, better having an army of Drizzt rather than an army of Sephiroths :D) CaiusTheBig User talk:Caiusthebig 08:46, 14 September 2010 (UTC)

Just want to point out that in GW1 r/w builds are sorta popular to the point of being metagame. So it makes sense that anet would take that into account and let us have a ranger with a giant sword.166.147.114.42 05:28, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

[1], A warrior with a GREATSWORD uses his momentum to deliver sweeping area effect damage attacks while gliding around the battlefield. --hexal My 15:42, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
It means warriors have Greatsword skills in which they do area of effect damage. Otherwise, the quote "Warriors with a LONGBOW light their arrows on fire to inflict area-of-effect damage" would mean that all ranger longbow skills do area of effect damage, which isn't true. Less speculation on the wiki, please. Erasculio 16:32, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
