To do list
- The older updates section needs to start at August. I'm terrible with DPL, however, so someone else do it.
- Game updates:September 2012 should be renamed Game updates/September 2012, but this page's DPL displays all subpages of "Game updates", so that would be displayed too. Someone either update the DPL or tell me SMW would do it better.
Any objections to how this has been implemented? It's basically just a copy of GWW's update notes, with the main difference being "/yyyy-mm-dd" instead of "/yyyymmdd". pling 15:19, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
- Sorry, this is one of the cases where DPL actually does something SMW can't (at least not easily) because it's not designed for transcluding full page contents. However, it only required a simple change to the DPL - since a numeric year is first in the actual update pages, and the monthly ones start with the month name, I just added a "2" before the wildcard. —Dr Ishmael 15:41, 14 September 2012 (UTC)

Listing build number
Could it be possible to list the build number along the version, at least from now on?

Info Box
The most recent update (currently Friday, 14 September 2012) is listed twice, with the first one linking to the talk page. Is this intentional? Considering the (talk) link already does this, it seems redundant. I would fix it myself, but I have no clue how the template works... sept 18/19 2012 update?

- This comment actually got me curious, how about listing how many files was changed (and maybe size as well) + the build number? That would give an idea how "big" the update is (lots of files = new content, few files = just patches)

- This idea was discussed a few times on the GW1 wikis, but I don't think it ever got any traction. The amount of update notes is usually more relevant to the qualitative assessment of how "big" an update is than the number of files. The number of files does not correlate to the amount of new content, either, since they could make a high-level change to a single game system like the map that would require updating all files related to that system - this would result in a large update with no new content. Size is deceptive, because some files are transferred in a compressed format while others are not. Build number is fairly meaningless as it merely reflects how many times a developer checked in new/updated code - a big change could be implemented and tested with only a few check-ins, where a small change might require a hundred check-ins before it passed QA.

- I agree that the build number is more or less irrelevant. When it comes to games, the build number merely reflects how major the change was. This might be handy if it wasn't for the fact that Guild Wars 2 is an online game and therefore you have to download the latest build. If it was an offline game then the build number would help determine whether the update affected you or not. — Andrealinia 14:56, 20 September 2012 (UTC)

I was wondering if it is possible to add interwiki link to Spanish version [1] of updates. Info in spanish wiki is constantly updated with news that are made here. Thanks, Worvast

Level of Completeness?
Since the official patchnotes (Game updates) certainly do not contain every change made it would probably be a good idea to inform the players about this. Maybe there is even a way to avoid or reduce the task of finding all the undocumented changes via trial and error or by pure chance. Important stuff like trait, skill or item changes/bugfixes should be completely mentioned in the patchnotes, or so I guess players would like it. For example, one of the 'leech' (vampiric) traits of the Necromancer profession is mentioned in the 1st of October patchnotes. The other leech-based traits (e. g. minions leeching health when attacking), while probably fixed as well, are not mentioned. I deem it unlikely that ArenaNet fixed the one and left the others unchanged. Eronaile 17:48, 3 October 2012 (UTC)
- I suggested tracking down changes to game files, so we could see what files were changed - that would allow to "easily" see for example if any new items were added, or if any string was changed. There was a problems around it though, one being the fact that GW2 dat format doesn't keep track of file names and file types. It is possible to recognize most file types, for example looking on it's header or file structure, but it's not so easy as with other game files formats. Update Size
So anyways - I noticed that GW2 updates are much bigger than what GW1 updates used to be - is it possible to post the update size along with each update? For those of us with SSDs who need to make space this is a very helpful number. A Liability 05:53, 22 October 2012 (UTC)

Candy Corn Nodes
Im glad they fixed those phantom candy corns from appearing and disappearing. Those were scaring me i had thought my computer couldnt fully process that Halloween had been over or that i was just being haunted by phantom candy corn. I kept asking in map chat if anyone else saw anything, no one had seen them or responded to me. Update 1 - 17 November 2012

Can someone please fix the most recent game update page so it says Arah explorable mode instead of " Dragon Explore Dungeon " it's making me cringe its so wrong lol
