Talk:Fishing Power
Is there any way to see my current fishing power? SanyaLomarion (talk) 13:54, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
- Hero panel tab Fishing or hovering the green hook while fighting fish. Added this information to the article intro. --Tolkyria (talk) 15:56, 16 March 2022 (UTC)
Are we sure that fishing power increases the probability of finding rarer fish? I have been fishing for hours (19 of 30 collections) and I have noticed no discernable impact of fishing power on rarity of fish. --Hesione (talk) 22:23, 2 April 2022 (UTC)
Heart of Maguuma (HoT) Missing From List[edit]
Today's EoD Dailies include Heart of Maguuma Fisher so I came to this page to see the recommended Fishing Power but did not find it in the list.--Justaplayer (talk) 13:39, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- There shouldn't be any fishholes in the open world Heart of Maguuma maps, only the guild halls which have Freshwater Fish. Open Water should be the same as Maguuma Jungle. --Tolkyria (talk) 16:40, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- Why would Anet have a Daily "HEART of Maguuma Fisher" (not just Maguuma Fisher) if there are no fishing pools in the HoT maps? (Haven't personally checked that.) But the list should at least have the HoT Guild Halls which DO count for "Heart of Maguuma Fisher" (doing this right now).--Justaplayer (talk) 17:33, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- For HoT dailies, Ember Bay and Draconis Mons count too. Perhaps for the fishing daily as well~Sime 18:53, 9 April 2022 (UTC)
- Returning to this, can confirm that Ember Bay (not enough FP for Draconis Mons) counts for HoT fishing. You can always also just fish in the normal water. ~Sime 00:00, 18 April 2022 (UTC)

- There plenty of fishing holes in Tangled Depths, at the Subterranean Lake. 18:02, 22 September 2024 (UTC)
Does it actually increase rarer fish?[edit]
From my experience it only makes the catch easier (red-orange-green) but it doesn't work like magic find. 79.50.87.86 03:00, 5 May 2022 (UTC)
- From my experience yes 100%, ive completed Cwamm, if i max out fishing power i get a legendary roughly every 8-10 fish in the map i farm in, some times less. when i was doing the collections though a few times i had to lose my stacks on purpose just to get a white fish to spawn that i hadnt got previously.Green spark (talk) 22:03, 29 May 2022 (UTC)

Ideal fishing power per fish rarity type?[edit]
Does anyone know of a list of what the ideal fishing power is for loot tables based on fish rarity type? For example, I heard that 850 is the sweet spot for exotic, and 700 for the tier below. This would make sense because it helps you exclude higher level fish from the loot table. It would be great to get this info to add to this page.
