How do we know it ends where the dragon lair was? It looks to me it just ends in the middle of the Crystal Desert. The dragons lair was in a grain of sand. Themastermoo 21:37, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Comparing to the GW1 maps, it seems to end where the Tombs of the Primeval Kings were. Which is right next to the entrance of the Dragon's Lair - i.e., the outpost - which is not in a grain of sand. -- Konig/talk 21:40, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Perhaps we should also mention the ToPK, they are also an important element in this I think. --Odal talk 21:42, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

From overlays, several have been made on GW2G. --Odal talk 21:47, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
@Thatsoundsrisky Well, I'm convinced. I wonder if Glint stopped him? Themastermoo 21:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Do we even know if this is really the mark left by the dragon (as in, has any official sourced stated that this is the mark left behind by Kralkatorrik)? Erasculio 21:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Considering Kralkatorrik's power I'd suggest he stopped there of his own accord. --Odal talk 21:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I think it's fairly obvious Eras. --Odal talk 21:49, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) See The Movement of the World:

"Only a few years ago, yet another dragon erupted from the northern mountains and flew south over the Charr territory of Ascalon. The land directly below the path of the dragon’s flight was corrupted, becoming a crater of horror. The ground blackened from the dragon's presence and any creatures caught within the wind of its breath twisted and changed."

(Edit conflict) IMO, the revision stating that "Dragonbrand presumably marks" was better - if we allow one thing to be documented without being stated by an official source, we leave room for people to add their own interpretation of things as if they were facts under the claim that "it's obvious". The wave of half empty and somewhat pointless articles we are getting now is a good sign of the size of the problem we would have if we allowed that kind of behavior. Since the book will be released in a couple weeks anyway, I don't see a problem in leaving a "presumably" until it's officially confirmed.Erasculio 21:55, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
I'm never against a presumably, and it does make sense, but this seems glaringly obvious to be the so called 'path of corruption' the dragon left. --Odal talk 21:57, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It appears to be rather obvious, you are right about that. I would like to add the "presumably" more to avoid opening a precedent for that kind of thing. Erasculio 21:58, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
As much as I think the dragon did it, I agree that it should be a "presumably" as well. Themastermoo 21:59, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
According to the timeline which came with the map, Kralkatorrik made the dragonbane. I added the dates of the timeline released to the timeline here. -- Konig/talk 22:02, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
"According to the timeline which came with the map, Kralkatorrik made the dragonbane": I see no "Kralkatorrik creates the Dragonbane" on the timeline. I expect to see that in the book. Therefore, a "presumably" would be well suited here until the book is released. Erasculio 22:08, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Take a look at the Timeline article again. --Odal talk 22:12, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
"Kralkatorrik, the Elder Crystal Dragon, awakens. Creation of the Dragonbrand." (happens in the same year) "Only a few years ago, yet another dragon erupted from the northern mountains and flew south over the Charr territory of Ascalon. The land directly below the path of the dragon’s flight was corrupted, becoming a crater of horror. The ground blackened from the dragon's presence and any creatures caught within the wind of its breath twisted and changed." combine this with the map, you can tell that the Dragonbrand is, at the very least, the end of the scar created by Kralkatorrik. Not everything needs to be spelled out like we're 2 year olds. -- Konig/talk 22:14, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Agreeing with Konig on this one,we know Kralkatorrik left a scar from his passage, now we have a name for the feature it left. If not, then where is the scar on that map? Its the only thing that fits the information/description we have.--Corsair@Yarrr 22:20, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) "combine this with the map, you can tell that the Dragonbrand is": as mentioned above, yes, it's rather obvious. The problem comes when we have other pieces of information and people decide to make their speculation as facts because "you can tell" (just like someone could add this image to the mesmer article and claim that "you can tell" it's a mesmer; that's probably right, but it would still be speculation anyway). In order to avoid the incoming discussions we would have due to people adding their speculation as facts (moments in which people do look "like we're 2 year olds"), it's better to simply mark all speculation as speculation; and here, that would translate as adding one word. Would it bother you really that much? Erasculio 22:21, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't bother me, per say, but it's rather obvious that at the least, Dragonbrand is the name of the end of the scar. The scar is visible on the map, it starts from center of the charr homelands, cuts through Ascalon, and ends in the Crystal Desert - it is the scar. The name "Dragonbrand" is at the very least the spot at the bottom, which is the southernmost part of the scar. That much is not speculation. Saying the entire scar is called Dragonbrand is, however, even if it isn't by very much. -- Konig/talk 23:02, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Revert [1] and [2][edit]

2 reverts, neither of them with explanation. Anyone care to provide one? --Santax (talk · contribs) 21:38, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

I have none. I hope that you don't mind, but I shall not risk getting into a revert war. However, I do support your revision. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 21:46, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
It doesn't split the Charr territory in half... --Odal talk 21:47, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
Sorry I misread, I'm also not understanding the revert now. Maybe the wording was considered better, also you did not include a stub tag. --Odal talk 21:48, 15 July 2010 (UTC)

Jade Wind[edit]

anyone but me think it has similaritys to the jade wind?? its stated on the gw1 wiki page of the jade wind that it was prosumed to have been a power of dwayna that shiro took from the empror when he killed him. i'm just thinking that shiro might have goten power from the elder dragon or that abbadon got the power from the elder dragon somehow and gave it to shiro User:kjelberg

The Jade Wind froze everything - animals and wood turned to stone, and water turned to gem (a kind of stone - the hue of the water just makes it jade). The Dragonbrand crystalizes. I don't see a similarity between the effects at all. The only GW1 event that might have a tie to Kralkatorrik and the Dragonbrand would be the Searing. And Shiro was never in Tyria so he couldn't have gotten it. And there's nothing purple-like about the Jade Wind either. Konig/talk 19:36, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
I agree the jade wind probably didn't have much to do with this, but I will say that the idea of Abaddon is interesting because I was wondering about that flowing or sometimes fire like purple on dark type of look that the margonites wore quite stylishly :) 98.169.44.231 03:59, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
