Talk:Claw of the Khan-Ur
Sounds like the players might have to get this, to help bring peace and to gain support in fighting Zhaitan. - Giant Nuker 23:59, 23 February 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, it's an item that is needed to bring peace in the Ghosts of Ascalon book. The charr will have it by the year GW2 takes place. -- Konig/talk 00:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Well I guess that makes sense. - Giant Nuker 12:28, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
ruins or king[edit]
[1] I put "king" because of the description at Ghosts of Ascalon - "Without the artifact, there is no hope for peace between humans and charr--but the undead king who rules Ascalon won't give it up easily, and not everyone wants peace!". I'm interpreting that to mean the king (whoever it is) has possession or control over the Claw, even if it's because his ghosts are in the way. That said, "ruins" works just as well, so I'm not looking for a revert.
As to whether it's Adelbern - the description of the foefire on that same page implies it killed everyone, then raised them as ghosts ("the Foefire burned both charr and human alike. While the charr corpses smoldered, the slain Ascalonians rose again, transformed by their king's rage into ghostly protectors"). I doubt the ghosts would take another king, but that's just speculation. -- pling 19:54, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
Forging of the Claw of Khan-Ur?[edit]
I was watching the Fall of Ascalon Lore QA on youtube, part 2, around minute 00.00.43, Matt Forbeck says that the Claw is something that has to be forge. So did they edited the book since the time of the interview to just an item, or if it need to be Forge, then there's more then one item to gather before they can forge it? right. If i hear him correctly it goes something like this: "find the artifacts that need to forge the piece, right." Can someone listen to that interview again, please? - My guess is on the edit. -- Konig/talk 17:58, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- Or they're making a duplicate. Backstabery ftw. -- Konig/talk 17:59, 18 March 2010 (UTC)
- LoL @ backstabery. Guess we shall find out when we get a hold of the novel! Pumpkin pie 15:52, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
- I just listened to it. He said they need this artifact "to be able to forge the peace" not that they needed to forge the Claw. Ramei Arashi 00:57, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
- Is the Claw of the Khan-Ur the charr name for Magdaer? 122.105.106.192 14:07, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, different 'relic' altogether, I believe. --Naoroji 14:19, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
- My first thoughts on the Claw of Khan-Ur was that the Khan-Ur dual wielded Magdaer and Sohothin. I got there from the claw being in Ascalon City and that's where Magdaer comes from, then with Sohothin being Magdaer's twin it would further make since. Also blades (such as swords) are referred to as Claws at time, especially when dual wielding. And this would be the best way to pretty much say "those ghosts are not leaving in the first book" as the sword would never get to a descendant of Doric (unless Dougal is a descendant).
- But as Naoroji said, it isn't completely likely. -- Konig/talk 22:06, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

Weapon[edit]
Does this strike anyone else as an extremely terrible weapon?--Corsair@Yarrr 04:14, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
- To those who cannot wield it properly, yes. I think that was the point of its design. It is the symbol of a leader among the charr, which are those who demand strength out of their leader. In order to wield this weapon, one would need to know how to use it and, in turn, have said "strength." -- Konig/talk 04:54, 27 July 2010 (UTC)
hmm...i wonder what it looks like oh i know a Charr's hand! It'll be a good weapon for my charr when GW2 is here. http://wiki.guildwars.com/images/1/16/Charrslayer_Focus.jpg maybe like this --Blackhorns 21:38, 18 August 2010 (UTC)User:Blackhorns
- It has 2 claws going backwards (that's towards the user). That'll be one screwed up hand. It's an ungue with four blades and a handle that has 4 gems in it. Not an actual claw. -- Konig/talk 21:45, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah i was just joking Blackhorns 22:25, 29 August 2010 (UTC)User:Blackhorns
well u come across a smaller scaled down ungue in GW 1 ie Ungue of the Oni. The Claw of Khan Ur is just like a much bigger version of one of them so its a two handed weapon as opposed to a dagger 92.234.198.46 22:54, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
- ya think they'll have an image or concept art of this thing? Or perhaps we'll see it ingame?--Will Greyhawk 19:10, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
- Cool.--Will Greyhawk 17:05, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
Location[edit]
Tried to find the damn thing in the Core, an excersise in frustration conicidering the mess the that is the Core. Never found the damn Claw. Can anyone give me a more specific location?--Will Greyhawk 10:33, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- Never seen it either. I don't think it made it into the game itself. Konig/talk 14:50, 3 December 2012 (UTC)
- I am displeased. Dispite the various descripions I've seen of it, I can't really imagine what this things looks like. I need a image. And frankly, concidering the Claw's significance, it should be visable in the game.--Will Greyhawk 08:42, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
- I've always figured it was a fancy design of bone, metal, fur, and gem version of the Centurion's Claw. Though the description would indicate that two blades go backwards rather than all four forwards. Konig/talk 15:39, 7 December 2012 (UTC)

Feedback 2018/04/25[edit]
The article is missing information on the weapon graphics :
- It has an on-crit effect which is IMO the best feature but is not reported here, a screenshot would be nice.
- This animation is also sadly bugged and will not proc off of soulbeast dagger main hand skills (which is the information I really want to spread).
Hope this helps :) 171.16.208.3 06:28, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
Look on a Charr[edit]
Since it is a Charr weapon, some images of it on a Charr would be nice. I found like only 3 via Google. --Lucy Luft (talk) 10:35, 7 December 2024 (UTC)
