The Purists are members of a Canthan sect that is a remnant of the fallen, xenophobic Ministry of Purity. They view themselves as true Canthans and wear masks that mimic the helmets once worn by the Ministry of Purity.
At some point, the Purists took over the Isle of Reflection where the Ministry of Purity founder Reiko Murakami had been assassinated centuries ago and treated it as a holy site dedicated to their martyr. Akane, Bian, and Kasmeer Meade led a group of volunteers to expel the Purist squatters and claim the isle for a guild hall.
