Dialogue[edit]
- Introduction
- Nozomi: Oh! Hey there! I'd shake your hand, but mine's covered in oil.
- Nozomi: Name's Nozomi—you're Yao's friend, right? They told me all about you.
- SCOUT: H-h-h-hello...o...o.
- Nozomi: ...And this is SCOUT—made him myself! A little rough around the edges, but he's a work in progress.
- Nozomi: That's where you come in, I hope. After talking to Yao, I figure I could use some of your Tyrian expertise.
- Before starting the collections
- Yao wasn't kidding, you ARE cute! It's nice to finally put a face to all the good gossip. Been told you're the helpful type: interested in helping me do a little research on AI empathy? For SCOUT!
- How can I help?
- I just need you to...do you! But in the presence of golems in Tyria. I'm gathering intel on their empathy modules, seeing how they compare to our tech. Here, I'll install a chip on your jade bot...
- Sure! Sounds interesting enough.
- Why do you need my help?
- I'm...not on the best terms with the Jade Brotherhood. They'll cut me down if they catch me. It's safe in Arborstone, but if I left... That's why I need your help.
- What do you need me to do again?
- Sorry, not now.
- Sorry, maybe some other time.
- I have places to be, empires to save...
- After starting Golem Behavior Analysis
- Nozomi: How's that research going? Any luck?
- Welcome back, pal. How's the golem research going?
- What am I doing again...?
- I need you to observe and record asuran golem behavior in Tyria, so I can build a better empathy module for SCOUT. That way I can really dig into the potential of AI capabilities... Just imagine!
- Where do I need to go?
- I'm on it.
- I'll let you know when I'm done.
- After finishing Golem Behavior Analysis
- Perfect, perfect, PERFECT! These readings are absolutely brilliant... Next up...well, home! I could use some of the same scans, but of Canthan technology! Xunlai Jade mechs, anything you can find.
- I'm on it!
- SCOUT: Can I go, too...?
- Nozomi: Xunlai's code is decent, but it's not perfect, I could use some recordings from a variety of jade mechs.
- Nozomi: I'd go myself, but... Didn't leave the Brotherhood on good terms. They'd cut me down on the spot.
- After finishing Mech Behavior Analysis
- Yes! Absolutely brilliant...do you see this reactivity? If I enter the data here, here, and... This is what I needed to complete the program.
- I'm glad I could help.
- SCOUT: Welcome back, Commander.
- Nozomi: Ah, you are back!
- Nozomi: Everything... worked! SCOUT is fully operational and empathetic.
- SCOUT: To an extent. I don't quite understand 'pain'.
- Nozomi: Not yet, at least. But we're well on our way.
- Nozomi: We get SCOUT into the world and let him really absorb the human experience... Imagine what he can do!
- Nozomi: All the people you can help. Like me.
- Nozomi: Yao was right about you. You're a keeper.
- Approaching after completing Building a Better Bot
- Y'know, it might seem silly, but imagine all the good we can put into the world if we put more thought into our technology. Not just thought, but...kindness. Look at how engaged SCOUT is.
- You're doing vital research.
