Biography[edit]

Early years[edit]

Matron Park, mother of Park Chul-Moo, became one of Cantha's wealthiest and most influential women.[1] She financed Chul-Moo and Yu Joon's budding enterprise. When Chul-Moo and Joon got into an argument about which direction they should take the Xunlai Jade corporation and Chul-Moo decided to go his separate way to found the Jade Brotherhood after reaching a settlement in 1833 CC (1323 AE), Matron Park got involved and insisted that she, too, was owed a payout for her "financial contributions to the company's early prototypes." However, she did not anticipate Joon's extensive record keeping as Joon procured a card in which the matron had clearly referred to her contributions as a gift "for the future of my beautiful boy," which negated her argument for compensation.[2]

End of Dragons[edit]

In 1845 CC (1335 AE), Matron Park contacted Chul-Moo via his assistant Marii that he was expected to attend his cousin Aiya's upcoming wedding in New Kaineng City.[3] When Chul-Moo tried to argue that the wedding would take place in a very public park and that he was a wanted man due to the Brotherhood's criminal activity in the city, the matron pointed out that the present problem would not have existed if he had stayed as the co-founder of Xunlai Jade instead of starting his own dubious enterprise.[4] She also sent word to Chul-Moo's lieutenant Renho that he was expected to be present at the wedding too alongside Chul-Moo.[3] Matron Park convinced Chul-Moo to promote Mal-Chin, his cousin, as one of the high-ranking lieutenants of the Jade Brotherhood due to a request from Mal-Chin's mother.[5]

At the last moment, his miserable mother got involved, insisting that she too was owed a payout for her "financial contributions to the company's early prototypes." Of course, Matron Park didn't anticipate my extensive record keeping—the look on her face when I produced the exact card in which she clearly referred to her contributions as a gift "for the future of my beautiful boy." I will treasure the memory.
