“Carving is an art. Slice them up. Scoop out the guts. And carve them a new face. Not for those with a weak stomach.
— Master Carver
Master Carver is the master pumpkin carver found in Lion's Arch during Halloween. He may also be found in other areas of Tyria.
Location[edit]
Dialogue[edit]
- You think you got what it takes to be called a master pumpkin carver?
- If the player has carved only a small amount of Carving Pumpkins
- So, you think carving a single pumpkin earns you any respect? Come back when you've carved a few more.
- My order has placed pumpkins around the world. Carve them up as best you can. Come back to me when you THINK you're done, and I'll judge whether you've earned the "Master Carver" title.
- It's a secret order of secret crafters who carve pumpkins. That's all you need to know.
- Right.
Your order?
- I'll get right on that.
What do I have to do?
- I'll get right on that.
- If the player hasn't carved 150 Carving Pumpkins
- You're carving up the faces of Tyria. I like that! However, if you carve many more, you'll be catching up to the likes of...me, and I don't like that at all. Still, doubt you can carve them all.
- Maybe I can.
- If the player carved 150 Carving Pumpkins
- I can't believe it! You've beaten my record. You truly are a master pumpkin carver. Happy Halloween!
- You've been acknowledged by my order and will be henceforth known as a master carver. Bear the title with pride.
- It's a secret order of secret crafters who carve pumpkins. That's all you need to know.
- Right.
Your order?
- Guess I showed you!
What do I get?
- Guess I showed you!
Yes, I do.
- Not interested.
Halloween ambient dialogue[edit]
- Master Carver: Take it from me—always lobotomize your squash.
- Master Carver: Carving is an art. Slice them up. Scoop out the guts. And carve them a new face. Not for those with a weak stomach.
- Master Carver: Be sure to saw lovingly and drill ever so gently; too much force will mangle their pretty little teeth.
- Master Carver: Poke out their eyes and scrape out their innards. For a finishing touch, light their faces on fire.
- Master Carver: Shhh... Do you hear that? Listen closely... That's the hopeless whimper of pumpkins begging for their lives.
