Dialogue[edit]
- Unless you're here to help with the preservation, I'd prefer if you not disturb these ruins.
- I want to help with the preservation.
- In that case, start by going through the rubble in these ruins. Take anything that looks important and return it to the proper tomb.
- How do I know which tomb the artifact belongs to?
- Each tomb should bear a description about it's inhabitant. These clues tell us who they were, and thereby what they might have owned.
- And if I get it wrong?
- Then you risk enraging the spirits, and they may become hostile. You may defeat them, but that is a short-term solution. Use caution.
- Anything else to worry about?
- Flame Legion. I'd be grateful if you would help us defeat them. During the day, we're under constant assault by the
- Flame Legion? What do they want from a place like this?
- Rankfur the Smolderfist has been looking for the warhorn in the ruins. He'll stop at nothing to find it. A Flame Legion shaman named
- Why? What's so special about this warhorn? (response changes if an event is going on; see below)
- Iron Legion is beating the Flame, badly. Rankfur believes he can use the horn to bend the ghost armies to his will. The
- Does the horn really exist? Can it control the ghosts?
- Does it matter? Rankfur will seek the horn no matter what I tell him, and he'll enrage these ghosts by disturbing the ruins.
- I'll help you with the preservation. (Same as "I want to help with the preservation." above)
- So why are you involved with this? (Same as "Why are you doing this?" below)
- Good point.
- Not good. What can I do to stop him? (Same as "Anything else to worry about?" above)
- That's absurd!
- I don't care about the Flame Legion. What can I do to help you? (dialogue resets)
- Sounds like a dangerous guy. I'm out of here.
- And by night? (Same as "Are there many Ascalonian ghosts around here?" below)
- I'd be glad to help with that.
- Why are these ghosts so enraged? (Same as "What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?" below)
- Thanks for the warning.
- Why are we doing this? (Same as "What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?" below)
- I see. It's like a puzzle!
- Cataloguing artifacts? Sounds like a chore and a bore. Anything else? (Same as "Anything else to worry about?" above)
- Okay.
- The preservation of what?
- Piken Square. Many of their warriors were killed and buried here when the charr invaded Ascalon. These are the ruins of a human landmark known as
- What brings you here? (Same as "Why are you doing this?" below)
- Spooky.
- Why are you doing this?
- My chapter of the Durmand Priory has considerable experience with the ghosts of Ascalon. That's why were assigned to this task.
- What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?
- The ghosts here only started rising when the Flame Legion tore through here. My chapter believes that is no coincidence.
- And you aim to banish the ghosts by putting things back in place?
- It seems unlikely that we can banish the ghosts forever. But I am convinced that some will rest peacefully if left undisturbed.
- How do you know so much about this? (Same as "The preservation of what?" above)
- Why are there ghosts here, anyhow? What is this place? (Same as "What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?" below)
- Interesting theory.
- Strange. Not many ghosts around here. (Same as "Are there many Ascalonian ghosts around here?" below)
- Not interested.
- Are there many Ascalonian ghosts around here?
- As night falls, the ghosts rise in greater numbers. They don't meddle like the Flame Legion, but they slow us just the same.
- What does the Flame Legion have to do with this? (Same as "Flame Legion? What do they want from a place like this?" above)
- Why are you bothering with this, anyway? Can't you just leave them be? (Same as "What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?" above)
- I can handle the ghosts.
- I see.
- Good-bye, then.
- Hey, we found some stuff here that doesn't quite have a place. You're welcome to it.
- Let's see what you have.
- Why are you doing this, again? (Same as "What can you possibly gain by preserving the ruins?" above)
- You're welcome.
- During Defend the Iron Legion camp
- I've failed. The Flame Legion found the lost warhorn of Old Pike, and now they've set a ghost army on the Iron Legion.
- What can I do?
- Head north. The ghosts have laid siege to an Iron Legion encampment. Defeat them, and then get that warhorn back here!
- On my way.
- Slow down, what's this about a warhorn and the Flame Legion?
- A Flame Legion shaman named Rankfur the Smolderfist has been looking for the warhorn in the ruins. He'll stop at nothing to find it.
- Why? What's so special about this warhorn?
- In truth, it belonged to a renowned human leader. His ghost is now bound to the warhorn, and Rankfur attempted to control him with it.
- And he succeeded?
- Yes. But Rankfur foolishly allowed the ghost to take the warhorn. All we have to do is get the horn and return it here.
- I'll help. Where do I go? (Same as "What can I do?" above)
- Okay.
- I don't have time for this. Good-bye.
- I don't care about the Flame Legion. What can I do to help you? (pre-completion dialogue starts, even if the heart is completed)
- Sounds like a dangerous guy. I'm out of here.
- Good-bye.
- During Escort Legionnaire Sharpshot
- Please, you must help! Get the warhorn of Old Pike back to these ruins before the Flame Legion get it again!
- Where do I go?
- Look for my apprentice, Magis Razerclaw. She is returning the horn here, but the Flame Legion will do whatever they can to stop her.
- On my way.
- Haven't I helped enough already?
- Slow down, what's this about a warhorn and the Flame Legion?
- A Flame Legion shaman named Rankfur the Smolderfist has been looking for the warhorn in the ruins. He'll stop at nothing to find it.
- Why? What's so special about this warhorn?
- In truth, it belonged to a renowned human leader. His ghost is now bound to the warhorn, and Rankfur attempted to control him with it.
- And he succeeded?
- Ultimately, no. We defeated the ghosts and took the horn. Now we just have to get it back here, safely.
- What do I do?
- Look for my apprentice, Magis Razerclaw. She is returning the horn here, but the Flame Legion will do whatever they can to stop her.
- On my way.
- Okay.
- I don't have time for this. Good-bye.

- Sounds like a dangerous guy. I'm out of here.
- I don't have time.
