“Before completion: Learn about Itzel poisons, and gain the ability to pass through poisonous Mordrem vines and withstand poison hazes that exist in Maguuma.
After completion: You can now enter poison haze areas and pass through poisonous Mordrem vines without taking damage.

- This mastery allows you to pass through the aforementioned vines and hazes that would otherwise block access to certain Mastery Insights, areas, and events throughout Heart of Maguuma, such as:
- Mastery Insights
- Auric Basin Insight: Burnisher Quarry
- Verdant Brink Insight: Fumerol Caves: Can also be accessed without the mastery with either careful jumping, or use of mounts.
- Hero challenges
- Verdant Brink: Ancient Tree: Can also be accessed without the mastery via careful gliding.
- Tangled Depths: Chak Hatchery: In addition to requiring the mastery, the area will need to be entered via either the Nuhoch Wallows in Nuhoch Lane, or the underground waterway. This requires either the Nuhoch Wallows mastery or the Exalted Markings mastery, depending on which route is taken.
- Areas and events
- Tangled Depths: Undergrowth Connector & associated events (underground lake is extremely toxic. The lake area can be reached on foot from Teku Nuhoch Waypoint, but cannot be stepped in nor accessed via the underground waterways without Poison Lore)
- Dragon's Stand: Defend the planted mushrooms until they reach maturity and Calm angry beetles down by stomping nodules inside the chak nest
