Mesmer
I have almost no doubts this will be it. -- Cyan 13:29, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
- That's what I thought at first, too(I am dying for Mesmer to be released), but I started to realize what look like spiderweb tattoos and shoulder spikes which is more Necro-like though Mesmers could have just given up their elegance over the years. (Mesmers ftw) --Spigs 03:25, 5 June 2010 (UTC)
- Nope, she's got a sword (see User:Pling/Sandbox) ha! --hnzdvn 17:50, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Lol thanks to Msn, Naoroji and I got to see her sword a while ago xD (when you copy one of those images, it shows them with a black background, so you can see all the details). Hooray for accidental discoveries! However, I wasn't sure what the other character was holding until Pling gave the very-possible suggestion of it being duel-wielded guns. --Amannelle 18:08, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Mesmers have swords ;) Chriskang 18:11, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

- Highfive, Chriskang. haha Also, Caithe seems to wield swords though she's believed to be a caster. Speaking of Caithe, I've always noticed this profession has a tattoo-looking marking on it. Maybe it's a Sylvari or perhaps just the same profession as Caithe that involves a type of tattooed body and melee/casting mix..? Just speculation. --Spigs 18:24, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
- Swords don't mean jack, no one thought the elementalist would wield a dagger, but they do. Chances are, its a scholar or an adventurer.--Corsair
@Yarrr 18:53, 11 June 2010 (UTC)- Oh! Nice catch there Chris. Perhaps it is a mesmer. --hnzdvn 00:39, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- One look at this picture and the obvious guess is mesmer. Especially since they've always had swords in concept art (and a sword will likely be one of their weapons in GW2). The tattoo thingies are probably because she's norn (judging by how huge she is). -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 22:56, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, are you guys sure that it is a sword in the picture? To me it looks more like a spear or possibly a staff with a sharp edge... The blade is far too short for a sword compared to what would be the hilt if it was a sword. Also, the way she is holding the item makes it look like a spear too. --Hasselmannen 14:46, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- IMO, i believe the sword that we can see is actually an illusion because no part of the figure can be seen to be holding on to it plus the fact there are no spears in the game gives me the impression that its hovering Beggerboy 16:01, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
- I think this is likely a mesmer from comparing it to the concept art 'purple fan' picture most believe to be a mesmer. Natejh8 23:49, 10 September 2010 (UTC)

Ritualist
The figure is a human female, and appears to have ritualist-like tatoos on her right arm around the elbow, and on her lower forearm near her wrist. IMHO, it may be a ritualist, or a new sword bearing adventurer profession based on the ritualist. Perhaps something along the D&D Druid line?--Warzog Watch your six! 06:26, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I think the "tattoos" are simply the artist taking artistic liberties. I believe this matches perfectly with the File:Mesmer 02 concept art.jpg which I assume to be a mesmer. I think if Rits were to make a return, they'd follow the old color schemes like they have been so far. Light blue to purple isn't a very subtle change IMO. Eive Windgrace 10:25, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- At first, I was tempted to agree that this is a Mesmer. However, this image has no gloves, carries a sword, has a short top / skirt, and the outfit has more of a peasant look to it, than the elegance a Mesmer outfit has.--Warzog Watch your six! 12:54, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- An additional thought, there are supposed to be two professions that have pets, if one is the ranger, a druid-like profession could be the second.--Warzog Watch your six! 13:50, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Well, example 1 would be the render Chris showed. To point out the recent things they've been doing to GW1 to transition us to GW2, the recent buff to Illusionary Weaponry made Mesmers almost as damage capable and resistant as normal front-liners when they use it.. Setting Mesmers up with swords would also fit their sense of "elegance" I always noticed about them. I could easily picture a GW1 Mesmer fencing an opponent into defeat as a great compliment to the Warriors brute strength. I still think this is a scholar profession despite the insinuations about this reveal in combat though. Eive 14:20, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I am forced to agree with your statements regarding a combative Mesmer. Perhaps my desire for a Druid-like character is clouding my judgement. Either way, only time will tell as to what profession this character really is.--Warzog Watch your six! 16:34, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- Are these tatoos? They look like some sort of armor to me. Considering this is a female figure, I go ahead and say it's an Asura. Judging by the sparkles near it's left hand this may be a Mesmer like the one on concept art. --81.157.186.26 16:53, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
- I don't recall seeing female Asura with breasts, as this image has. Or, with hair, and no long floppy ears or headress, as this image does. As to armor, this image has a short-sleeved top, with a little midriff showing. If it's armor, it's paper thin. IMHO--Warzog Watch your six! 03:20, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
- This one is definatly no human, char or silvari. She is way too big, she is at the back and she looks still bigger than the elementalist at the front, so perspective-wise, that makes sens. That is why in an attempt to draw it someone made a huge ugly woman, which should have been a sexy norn beast! It is definatly a female norn and I tend to believe this is a recurrent class from gw2 but with a different name. So something like a ritualist that we could call druid or a mesmer that could be an enchanter. Milène 142.78.8.4 18:27, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Necromancer
Has anyone noticed that the armor on this one seems more like a Necromancer then a Mesmer?--Icyyy Blue 14:17, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I thought the blouse looks like this [one], and the skirt resembles [this]. (Both, of which, are Ritualist armor.)
- However, [this] Mesmer top and gloves do appear to be similar also.--Warzog Watch your six! 18:04, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- The armor's look honestly doesn't matter (apart from looking scholarly), as all three scholar professions can wear the same armor. That aside, the pose and caster sword are practically trademarked to the mesmer profession. -~=Ϛρѧякγ (τѧιк) 18:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
- You're probably right. I'll sorely miss not having a Ritualist, though.--Warzog Watch your six! 18:18, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Warlock
Seeming as the image shows various tattoos which seem kind of like spider webs, and they are bearing what appears to be a short sword, which could end up being a dagger, this might be our next warlock for Guild Wars 2. I'm assuming they are just combining most of Guild Wars' original professions and giving them a nice touch. Most of them will probably end up the same in the end of it all. Kroff
- ... Warlock? Also, no tattoos there. Yes, this one appears to wield a short sword, which would be more in line with a Mesmer instead of any sort of Necromancer type. --Naoroji 09:38, 20 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah. Come to think of it now, I don't know why it would be a warlock. - Kroff 21:52, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
- Why even bother guessing. Beyond professions, theres also gender and species to consider. This person is female human or norn. Standing in a dark room of my house I have a hard time telling what half of the silhouettes are...and its in my own house! And after saying this there will be a profession reveal and 1 person out of a thousands guesses will be like "i told ya i could see what profession it was!" Justice 06:37, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah. Come to think of it now, I don't know why it would be a warlock. - Kroff 21:52, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
Hayda
- Obviously not a profession. Certainly has her silouete. Justice 08:17, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- I'd agree with that, but Hayda doesn't have sleeves, or a long, flowing skirt. Eive 08:21, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
My Edits (yet again)
http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq60/eclipse_143/MesmerProffesionGW2.png It's a bit shabby, but I am pretty shure this CAn be a mesmer. - OKAY! more research. http://i433.photobucket.com/albums/qq60/eclipse_143/GW2ARMOR.jpg look at the first armor set and the last armor set. To me, they look A LOT like a mesmer's armor. I think i heard Anet saying they wanted to keep the theme of professions in que so that they aren't TOTALLY different. GW1 Armors:http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Mesmer_Enchanter_armor_f.jpg AND http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/File:Mesmer_Luxon_armor_f.jpg Displaying these photos strengthens my argument that mesmers could be a proffesion in GW2. --Eclipse143 10:49, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- If you're saying it is a sword and even if it really is I would like to say thats a strange way to hold one. Verticle from the shoulder is rather uncomfortable and holds no strategic advantage; we can probably rule out that she (I say she as you can make out her breasts) isn't at attention from her pose. She defintly has the markings of a Sylvari (Can anyone else see the "bear" paw on her right breast?) and we can presume from her body shape that she is probably a scholar; nothing but speculation is for certain of course. -- Magican talk 03:15, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Paladin
The sword she hold could be some reference to another soldier class, or adventurer. Don't let the cape let you think something, as a Dervish has some kind of robe too. I could make a shot on a paladin like character, since the sword has some shiny glow around it, what do you guys think?~Youah Linn
imo....
in my opinion, this and the one with the 'coat'are the ones that will be the 'similar proffession under a different name'and 'returning proffession' and the charr looking one will be the new one i think this will either be a mesmer as 'mesmer' was mentioned in ghosts of ascalon or 'illusionist' or something (i may be wrong) Getefix 19:57, 12 February 2011 (UTC)
