Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic
“Double-click to salvage crafting materials from an item in your inventory. 10% chance of rarer materials. 20% chance of salvaging upgrades. Requires 3 copper per use.
Cost per use: 3— In-game description
The Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic is an infinite use Basic Salvage Kit purchased from the Gem Store. Instead of having a set amount of charges when purchased, it has infinite charges, but requires 3 per use. For comparison, a normal Basic Salvage Kit costs 88 and comes with 25 uses, equating to 3.52 per use. The first time it is used to salvage something, and every few times thereafter, it will talk in a golem-like voice.

Mechanics[edit]
- If the chance to salvage an upgrade triggers, the upgrade is salvaged and those materials, mostly Lucent Mote are returned.
- When salvaging trinkets, the upgrade is not salvaged, but returned intact if the chance triggers. For example, Gilded Sunstone Jewel from the masterwork Caudecus's Journal.
- Compared to a Basic Salvage Kit bought for coin from a vendor at a cost of 88 for 25 uses, a Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic saves 0.52 per salvage.
- Determining the number of salvages needed to "break even" compared to an equivalent number of uses of Basic Salvage Kits depends heavily on the gold-gem exchange rate at the time.
- For a rough sense, divide the total gold cost of 800 gems (or a given sale price) by the savings of 0.52 .
- For example, at a price of 322 29 for 800 gems, it would take about 6.29 million salvages to break even. This is equivalent to completing the Agent of Entropy achievement 31,450 times. (You only need to complete it 125 times to get all the achievement points.)
- Given the long time for this item to pay for itself, the value proposition is in convenience rather than economics: Its infinite nature doesn't require visiting a vendor to restock, and, unlike consumable salvage kits, it never takes up more than a single inventory slot.

Trivia[edit]
- Originally the item was of Basic rarity and functioned exactly like a Basic Salvage Kit, however after the November 26, 2013 game update, the rarity was changed to Rare. Some users reported that they were getting more rare materials, even though the description remained unchanged.[1] The item's rarity was changed back to basic in a later update and there have been no further reports of anomalies.
- The inventory icon for this item bears a strong resemblance to a slot machine.
