Acquisition[edit]
With the exception of Pursuit of Knowledge and Ley of the Land, obtaining these achievements requires completing the three types of events multiple times. Defeat the dragon minions before they absorb too much ley-line magic is a timed ley-line coalescence defense event where dragon minions (branded, destroyer, or ice brood depending on location) spawn to attack allied Accumulated Ley Energy, the number of which increase over time. After this event completes successfully, a follow-up event -- Defeat the coalescence to disperse the ley-line magic -- will trigger requiring the defeat of a Champion Coalescence. The third type of event, Defeat the Inquest to prevent them from capturing the Ley-Energy Coalescence, is a morale event that only successfully completes once the inquest morale bar becomes empty.
Pursuit of Knowledge[edit]
Acquire an Unidentified Lodestone from any dragon minion and bring it to Ela Makkay in Lion's Arch. It is a random drop.
Ley-Line Cartography[edit]
Complete the event Defeat the dragon minions before they absorb too much ley-line magic found in the following locations. You must complete this event at one of the three locations in each zone to get the achievement.
Blazeridge Steppes Events
Refuge Sanctum Waypoint — Southeast on a ledge- Brandview Waypoint — North of the waypoint
- Soot Road Waypoint — Southeast on the hill
Mount Maelstrom Events
- Avernan Waypoint — Southwest the waypoint
- Irwin Isle Waypoint — Southeast halfway to Tzanopl Grounds
- Magmatic Waypoint — Northwest
Snowden Drifts Events
- Soderhem Steading Waypoint — East
- Snowdrift Haven Waypoint — Southeast of Jorand's Sluice / north of Moldary Point
- Skradden Waypoint — North in a cove between mountain peaks
The events spawn roughly every 10 minutes at one or two of three locations in each zone and do not begin until a player approaches the location.
Hold the Line[edit]
To get this achievement, don't let the minions during the Defeat the dragon minions before they absorb too much ley-line magic event absorb/kill any energy from the Accumulated Ley Energy allied mobs. The minions will target you over the sparks, so run around and tag them to keep them interested in you instead. If the event completes with no energy absorbed, you get the achievement.
Be aware that the event version in Ember Bay does not give completion for this achievement.
Magic Dispersed[edit]
Complete Defeat the coalescence to disperse the ley-line magic event five times. This can be done at any of the locations.
Out of the Wrong Hands[edit]
Assist the Priory or Consortium groups against the Inquest 10 times to get the achievement. Success in the event requires the inquest morale bar to be empty. Killing inquest and their golems will decrease inquest morale. Once the morale bar is ~50% full, new waves of more numerous inquest will spawn with super-fast golems to gather ley energy. Gathering/turning in ley energy will move the tethered ley coalescence proportionally closer to the team with the higher number of ley energy contributed. Note: the event will fail if the inquest gather enough ley energy to pull the tethered coalescence to their Ley Capacitor set-up.
In addition, there are 6 related achievements for helping the individual Priory or Consortium groups three times each, in each zone.
Fiona's Stockpile / Flinnz's Retirement / Garen's Defense / Keadin's Study / Loonaloo's Paycheck / Shana's Ambition[edit]
To get progress in their achievement, you must assist the specific NPC for the achievement: turn in at least 1 Ley Energy to the group's Ley Capacitor set-up to get credit for that group, and then successfully complete the Defeat the Inquest to prevent them from capturing the Ley-Energy Coalescence event. Only one group may be supported at a time, and the last group to receive a ley energy from you will be the group that you support. You can track which team you support by the 
Priory Supporter effect or Consortium Supporter effect. The groups' starting locations and the achievement for each researcher is below:

Thwart the Inquest[edit]
During the above events, do not allow the Inquest to retrieve any Ley Energy objects. This can be achieved by defeating all golems (which carry the energy) before they make it to the Lead Scientist. Players should also pick up any Ley Energy that are close to the Inquest and move them away to give as much time as possible to take out the golems.
Ley-Line Research[edit]
While completing the above events for the Priory, turn in 30 Ley Energy. This counts for any of the three Priory NPCs. During the events, there can be several Ley Energy near the collector that can be grabbed easily.
