Dialogue[edit]
- Welcome to the battlefront, Wayfinder. Let's get you caught up on the campaign.
- Captain Farrus: Slowly, but surely. We're outnumbered and they've got a lot of defenses, but our tactical knowledge is superior.
- Captain Farrus: The locals don't want to fight us, which means Eparch can only resist us where he can get his loyalists in.
- Captain Farrus: We're prodding at the defenses and spreading out their forces. A breakthrough is inevitable.
Are we making progress?
- Captain Farrus: High, for now. Those who were already here already owe their lives to our Kryptis allies, so this battle means a lot to them.
- Captain Farrus: And you'll find the ward isn't so easily broken. We've faced difficult battles in hostile environments many times.
How's morale around here?
- Captain Farrus: Yes, but not without help. We need to get the locals to join us, and we need as many loyalists as possible to turn.
- Captain Farrus: Peitha has some ideas for that, of course. And, in the end, we'll need Isgarren to pledge the ward's full support.
- Captain Farrus: For that to happen, we need to keep winning, to prove this isn't a hopeless endeavor. That's where you come in.
Give it to me straight: Can we win?
- Captain Farrus: Peitha believes we can, and I think she's right. They're miserable under Eparch, and we're offering them a better future.
- Captain Farrus: But it's not going to be easy. They've seen what happens to the disloyal. We'll have to prove we can keep them safe.
Can we really get the Kryptis to turn on Eparch?
- Zakiros's defenses?
- Captain Farrus: Well, Eparch clearly planned for this contingency, because it's built to withstand a lot of punishment.
- Captain Farrus: We know there are shield pylons on the outside with heavy turrets defending them.
- Captain Farrus: And if you can get past those, all three towers have an array of weapons as well, each covering the other's blind spots.
- Captain Farrus: There's likely more inside the structure as well that we don't know about. I won't lie; it's going to be very difficult.
What do you know about - Captain Farrus: None at all. Nothing comes out of the citadel these days, so we have no way of knowing what's going on in there.
- Captain Farrus: But if I were him, I'd be concentrating my forces, preparing choke points, and setting up traps.
- Captain Farrus: The defender has an advantage here that will make any assault riskier. We'll need to find creative ways to counter that.
Any word on what Eparch is planning?
- Captain Farrus: Partially, but not completely. There are still frequent and costly engagements with loyalists across our territory.
- Captain Farrus: It's difficult to hold as much ground as we've taken with the forces we have, especially when the enemy can use rifts.
- Captain Farrus: We've held out so far, but time is a factor. We'll need to act soon to avoid a collapse of our defensive lines.
Have we secured the areas outside of Zakiros?
- Captain Farrus: Step in and fight with our soldiers whenever you can. They look up to you, and morale is important right now.
- Captain Farrus: Keep helping the civilian Kryptis, also.
- Captain Farrus: This is essentially a short-term occupation, and if the locals want us here, that makes everything easier.
- Captain Farrus: But most importantly, stay safe out there. I'd hate to see what this situation would look like if we lost you.
Anything I can do to help?
- I'm good for now.
